had a huge data overage on the 18th of August: I have a 2gb data plan and my phone used the entirety of that amount in one day!!

No idea why (only thing I remember doing was downloading the olympics app to watch the 200m men's final, all told about 600mb [!!!] of usage).

Been trying to chat with Apple support. On the first day they transferred me to a senior specialist and got disconnected. I didn't have time to pursue it so I just dropped it (after waiting 10-15 minutes).

The second time they just disconnected with me, after a 45 minute chat where they had me running through my phone sending screen shots etc etc, but not really helping. I haven't reset my cellular data usage in a year (which I told them off the top) but they had me look through there anyways, before agreeing that the data there is irrelevant because it wasn't reset recently.

Sooooo what do I do; open a chat again?

Here's a couple screenshots. (The Sr. Advisor disconnects with me after my last question.)

Have you tried talking with your service provider to see if they can provide you with information on what the data usage was?

I'd recommend downloading a data usage analysis tool going forward so you can figure out what this is. Do you use Facebook? If so, do you have videos loading automatically on your feed whilst on your Mobile Network? I only ask because 99% of people who come into my store with data issues on iPhone don't realise they have this turned on and how much data it uses.

Thanks for your reply.

I've contacted my service provider and they only give me a breakdown of data usage per day - not per hour, so it doesn't help much.

What is a good data analysis tool? Are there any that break it down app by app hour by hour? yes, i have facebook auto loading video. I don't think it's the culprit, but it could be... there are about 6 apps that have used more than a gig in the past year in my cellular -> usage panel.
