5G here is terribly inconsistent with speeds ranging from within the kilobits a second area to over 100 Mbps. Sometimes I can fry an egg faster than it takes to load a single page with 5G enabled. T Mobile informed me that we are among the last to get upgrades in the area and advised me to disable 5G. I sure wish they would have told me that before I purchased the phone.

Post your 5G Speedtest results here and we’ll try to get a consensus of who is getting what 5G speeds.

Please include:

iPhone model: 12 v 12 Pro
Carrier: AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon or other
City tested in.

and if you have Verizon, whether it was 5G Nationwide or 5G Ultrawide

Thanks.
Verizon, LA, iPhone 13 pro

In the past year 5g has gone from pretty good to almost unusable for me here in my part of Southern California. Using an iphone 12, I am now finding more and more that I just need to keep 5g turned off to get reliable data. I guess it's due to more people using 5g phones now and over saturating the market (?).
This and the fact that the FAA is now complaining about the possibility of 5g interfering with airline safety in the bigger cities seems to be pointing towards a total disaster for this whole 5g idea.

The 5G airline issues can be mitigated in the areas near airports, something already being done in countries other than the US. It's hard to tell how much of this is bureaucratic infighting between the FAA and FCC.

Haven't seen any speed drop-off issues here in the Seattle area where I would expect there to be significant usage; I'm still seeing download speeds of over 700Mbps (12 Pro Max & Mini 6).

Are you connected to the higher frequencies? The screenshot looks cropped so it’s impossible for others to see… There’s a lot of packet loss too. 78% is pretty high.
No, it wasn't an area where mmWave is available. I assume this is C-band, which doesn't seem to be offering any speed improvements. I cropped to omit the location. I didn't think to take a proper screenshot at the time the test was done.

Most of my friends on Verizon in my area have very little 5g if any. A few have left Verizon and came to T-Mobile which I did 3 years ago being with Verizon for 27 years.

In addition to mmWave, Verizon has C-Band too. It has much greater range, and faster speeds.

Did the 5G icon, in the upper right hand corner, have a uw next to it? If not then you weren’t on C-Band or mmWave. You were probably on 5G that’s shares 4G using DSS. It’s much slower.

Edit: I have location turned off for Speedtest.

Europe's fastest (as they say). Don't know what to do with so much speed.

Memorable 2/22/22 speed test ?

Verizon C-band is working pretty well in my area. Much better than mmWave since it penetrates better without sacrificing speed

Yes, it said 5G UW. I wish they would update Speedtest to somehow reflect this. mmWave isn't available in that area; that's why I assumed c-band.

Not too bad. Canada doesn’t have MM Wave yet and this is acceptable for sure.
