You people need to stop using the term Fanboy. Its derogatory. And every meaning you intend by it applies to you all as well, just to the opposite extreme. In fact its worse for you. Because you enjoy spending your time on a website devoted to discussing products you hate. How sad is that.

----------

Thats what all the people that love to throw around the terms like fanboy and sheep do. They never stop to see what they are.

You want not to be called a fanboy or sheep? Then stop saying anyone who disagrees with you and Apple is a paid shill.

When I think someone is a paid shill, it is never merely because they disagree with me. I welcome intelligent discussion about any topic technology related. It's usually pretty obvious. The time of day that their responses occur more frequently, the very similar types of posts they make, the spin they use. I'm not new to the game. Take a look at my join date. I have very few posts for the amount of time I have been a member of this community, but i read these forums every single day of the year. I read.

How did the 'fool' you? Did they lie about the capabilities, or specificatins of the products?

They fooled me into believing that the iPhone is a high quality product, so worth paying $1000 for. Well I've had seven (7) android devices, one of them was $99. I still have all of them, some are now 4 years old, and they all perform exactly as they did the day I purchased them. I have never had a hardware failure with any of them. In my less than one year of iPhome ownership, with my never even once dropped iPhone, I have so far had it have the battery replaced, and the microphone replaced. So I spent ten times as much for an unreliable product. I think reliability is a necessary ingredient in "quality" for some things. Even a car, which is why in the end, even though a Porsche is uglier than a Ferrari, it is a higher quality product. Now I ain't saying a cheap samsung phone is a Porsche, but an iPhone ain't no Ferrari neither. It's a freaking phone and shouldn't crap out twice for no reason for $1000. If iPhones were $100 they might be worth it, but damn should I be fool enough to spend $1000 bucks again so I can stay in iMesage jail? Am I damn fool enough?

That is just ridiculous you can not try to sell a smartphone just making it bigger and bigger.

I use a Nexus 5 now, it has 2GB of ram, the only problem is the OS, if it's optimized you should not need so much ram, let's be honest, I can use my laptop perfectly with just 4GB and for many demanding things, in a phone, is just a waste and marketing...

I agree, different OSs, different RAM requirements but more RAM and more inches is a selling feature... It's up there with 'my dad is bigger than your dad' :D

You remind me of the guy that keeps crying about his girlfriend where everyone tells him to break up with her but he keeps going back to her. If you put this much effort into a post for an iPhone, you definitely have feelings for it.

Update 7:19 AM: As noted in our forums, the schematic's references DDR and NAND suggests that it more likely refers to some aspect of the device's flash memory rather than DRAM included within the A8 chip

People mixup Ram and drive space all the time. Rookie mistake. But I'm glad MR pointed this out so MR itself and others realise this.

MacRumors Autopsy:

They fooled me into believing that the iPhone is a high quality product, so worth paying $1000 for.

An iPhone was bought without a contract.

Well I've had seven (7) android devices, one of them was $99.

Are we still talking about off contract? Maybe an end of life product like the Moto G.

I still have all of them, some are now 4 years old, and they all perform exactly as they did the day I purchased them.

Seven devices in 4 years? Of course they all still work, that's just under 7 months per device.

I have never had a hardware failure with any of them.

Because they were still new when replaced.

In my less than one year of iPhome ownership,

Wait a second. That means you had 7 android devices in 3 years. So change that to 5 months per device.

with my never even once dropped iPhone, I have so far had it have the battery replaced, and the microphone replaced.

That sucks, but issues do happen, and you really haven't had it very long. Good thing its still in warranty.

So I spent ten times as much

By choice. Most carriers still subsidize the price hundreds of dollars.

for an unreliable product.

Well if a few months isn't enough time to call the other devices thoroughly tested, then two issues on a brand new device is a tad weak to call it unreliable.

I think reliability is a necessary ingredient in "quality" for some things.

I wish more of the post surrounded defining reliability and quality. That's the meat here.

Even a car,

Oh good, an analogy. This will clear things up...

which is why in the end, even though a Porsche is uglier than a Ferrari, it is a higher quality product.

What? Ok... Porsche is a better product than Ferrari despite Porsche being less appealing.

Now I ain't saying a cheap samsung phone is a Porsche,

Cheap Samsung devices are not better...

but an iPhone ain't no Ferrari neither.

But the iPhone is not not (not?) second best.

It's a freaking phone

Man, freaking was crazy back in the day. It's a bit before my time, but I heard some wild stories.

and shouldn't crap out twice for no reason for $1000.

Are you upset because the reason was not made clear, or because you spent $1000? I am sure there was a reason your specific device had issues, and I am sure there is a reason you laid down $1000 for a $300 device.

If iPhones were $100 they might be worth it,

“There’s no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant market share. No chance. It’s a $500 subsidized item.” (Steve Ballmer)

but damn should I be fool enough to spend $1000 bucks again so I can stay in iMesage jail?

It would be silly of you to buy any device when you already own 8 smartphones.

Am I damn fool enough?

Sorry Samsung, we are not fooled.

The only logical reason anti Apple shills are on this site is because you paid them. And it's not working.

Thank for your complaint Apple Hater, now go to an android forum. Wait. . . you payed $1000 for your iPhone. Dafaq. I got mine from sprint for $199. Even after 4 years, my iPhone 4 runs like its new. Not even a crack. Oh, and you can disable iMessage if you want to.

Mo Ram mo problems!

Apple doesn't believe in specs

I too dont belive. If Apple can achieve with 1GB ram what I want as a user, Im OK. Right now, when I watch porn on varios tabs in Safari, the tabs relaod constantly so I have to forward the player to where I turned it off. There is insuficiency in the hardware or the software.
