A) This isn't a new charger design, it already used in Australia.
Cost concerns? Does this person realize that this adapter is used elsewhere in the world already. Can't imagine a big cost to sticking a different interchangeable plug section in the box.
God I'm sick of rumor sites treating Ming-Chi Kuo as some god. There's no evidence he has inside information, just throwing stuff at the wall and some of it sticks.

Since when does Ming-Chi Kuo let me throw stuff against the wall and see what sticks = fact? Basically what we have is, a previous rumor which may or may not have been true, may not be true.
Is that your threshold for improved design? If if doesn't ruin your whole day, then leave it alone? No point in releasing a new iPhone at all then.I don't reckon in all my time using USB cables have I once said, "gee I wish this was reversible, cos it is ruining my whole day turning it around to plug it in..."
So why not post a happy new story instead? maybe investigate some of apples happy staff and write something about that just for a change?
Why would anyone want to standardise this type of cable when Type C USB 3.1 Cables/Plugs are reversible by design, much smaller and a lot tougher than this?Shipping this with the iPhone 6 should be done, it would standardise this cable quicker and faster.
You do know that this is a site mainly about Mac rumors right?
LOL glad you said this. I'm sitting here looking at my adapter thinking "How the hell did I get something that isn't released yet?"
Got mine with my 5S here in Australia, last year.

Well, they do need a differentiating feature to help push the iPhone 6s when it comes. I guess this cable will be it!

This time I think Apple missed the train and got overtaken by the usb-standard.
If Apple is clever, they would just drop that patent (which may well be revoked anyway due to prior art) and just be the first to implement type c plugs...that would be awesome.
