Pathetic effort by Apple. 3 TB company can’t build their own LLM? Instead Tim Cook all in on the failed Vision Pro. What a mess.
Time to Tim go home.

However, they may be in a conflict of values: OpenAI and other companies train their LLM basically on stolen content.

Apple is becoming more and more a content producer and distributor.

Can you picture the kind of discussions they are having internally and with LLM providers?

Apple is doing exactly what it did with IBM first and Intel later: meanwhile positioning itself in the market by paying the best possible price for others' technology, not falling behind and satisfying its customers. And meanwhile it develops its own solution that it will introduce in a couple of years.

e.g. like Apple Maps?!? 😂😂😂😂 But you know that Apple failed in many areas. At the moment Apple adds new camera lenses to its single cash cow, the iPhone. That is a terrible poor performance for a $3trillion company.

Do t see how apple is late. Most companies just have some tech demos or nice to have things online. If apple launches later this year with well thought out AI features that are not just built on hype they will be good.

That’s how they always do it. Launch a bit later but come out with a much better and more mature product.
