from what I've read, on the 1st when scrolling down the tv app you will see something to click to activate your 1 year free subscription.

Agree. I am wondering how this will work if we bought a device after the announcement. I bought iPhone and a new MacBook.

Thanks. Just so Im clear.

I bought an iphone 11, I sign into my phone with my apple id... install the app on my phone, then open the app and activate the sub on my phone.

But how then do I watch it on my ATV4K?

It's linked to your Apple ID so as long as you're signed in there you should be good to go

I think it applies after the 1 week free trial from what I remember them saying at the show. It's suppose to be tied to your Apple ID.

As bumbo stated. You will be able to watch on any device, Mac iPhone iPad or Apple TV so long as you are signed in with the same Apple ID as the device you activated your subscription on.

From the terms and conditions https://www.apple.com/promo/pdf/EN_US_ATV+_Promo_TandCs.pdf

"Offer must be claimed in the Apple TV app within 3 months after first setting up your new device."

The key words are within 3 months of setting up your new device. If you got the new iPhones on launch day in late September, you already have lost the first 40 to 45 days of that 3 month period if you set up the phone when you got it. So you really only have until mid December at the latest to sign up for a year of free ATV+

That’s fake news. Did you read the rest of the paragraph you quoted from the terms and conditions?

“If you’ve purchased your new device before the launch of Apple TV+ on November 1, you will have 3 months starting November 1 to redeem.”

So if you purchased an iPhone 11/Pro/Pro Max on October 31 or earlier, you have until February 1 to start the 1 year trial.

It works pretty easily. It recognized me in the Apple TV app as being eligible for a free subscription (on my iPhone 11 Pro Max). And I just agreed to the year free. And I got in.

Last thing I bought Apple wise was the second gen Airpods. Certainly no significant new Apple Tech like a new iPhone, mac or Apple TV since September 10.

But I got the free year anyway. Signed up and good to go for a year.

I bought iPad Air 3 using my GF credit card and registered at Apple Store with her name but still got a year of TV+ for free since my Apple ID is on the Air.

I’ve tried accessing the web site with Chrome and Firefox and still only get the option of a one week trial. ?
