Looks like it got the Metal fixes it needed! This was my favorite game of last year. Enjoy.
About f***ing time.Looks like it got the Metal fixes it needed!
It doesn't show on the French MAS...I just happened to see this show up on both Steam and the MAS!
$29.99 for what, by all counts, is a simply gorgeous game.
Part of why I bought my 2010 Mac Pro 5,1 and upgraded the graphics card was to play this game. Now I find that I cannot play it due to no metal support. What technical reason is there for no metal support in my Mac Pro?

What GPU do you have?
If you have a compatible GPU, Metal will work.
Is there a link for this game?
OK I found it: http://obduction.com
[doublepost=1491305885][/doublepost]it says its for version OS Mac 10.12.4.
Mine is 10.12.3. which can experience crashes.
So, update your OS to 10.12.4.

I have a R9 280x which works with Metal nicely. Edit: forgot to mention that this was for a 2010 Mac Pro. So saying you have a 2010 Mac Pro and can't use Metal is completely wrong.Indeed, we don't do any validation of the GPU beyond making sure it can provide us a Metal device. I've run UE4 projects w/ Metal support on an Nvidia 680GTX, AMD 7950 Mac Edition and Nvidia 970GTX (via Nvidia's WebDrivers) in a 2010 Mac Pro. There may be technicalities with whether Apple support this as these aren't the GPUs that the Mac Pro's shipped with but it should work AFAIK.
What do people think of Obduction? I was keen to try it out (Metal hype), so bought it on Steam but... Meh, not feeling it. I loved Myst back in the day, but I just don't feel like Obduction captures that same sense of wonder.

It performs well enough. I have a 2013 27" iMac with an i7 and 780M and get maybe 30 fps on medium at 1440.
I thought 10.12.4 fixed the METAL problem on a mid 2011 iMac. I am running a loaded iMac (for the year) 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, Quad Core, AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB, 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 I have not bought it yet until I am sure it will run on my iMac. any IDEAS
[doublepost=1491701094][/doublepost]I have all the requirements to run it but the METAL I guess my question is it hardware or software that can be added?? I already have 2 partitions on my HDD one is Mavericks 10.9.5 and Sierra 10.12.4. If I boot up Sierra I show no METAL in my ABOUT THIS MAC/SYSTEM/GRAPHICS/DISPLAYS like Cyan tells us to check. Because I have 2 partitions I can not add BOOT CAMP to run the Windows version. so now I am gona add a second SSD so I can put BOOT CAMP on it. I will not give up my Mavericks. since Steve Jobs PASSED Apples software has S**KED. Serra's and ElCapitan's interfaces looks like a 6 year old designed it.
I use both Mav and Sierra on one drive. So I have no FIX HUH not even BOOT CAMP?.... BUMMERYour iMac doesn't support Metal. You need a late 2012 or later.

Obduction needs Metal.
PS You should upgrade from Mavericks. Even OpenGL performance will be improved.
