@raab i followed your suggestion and turned off icloud

-> no beachball, booting is 20 seconds faster
turned on icloud with the exeption of iCloud Drive -> no beachball

(i did this on three machines - beachball/black bar is gone)

Same thing suddenly happening to me. A bit annoying to say, at least, bearing in mind logging into a 12 yo computer running Debian 11 feels much polished.

I'm on macOS 12.5 Monterey and turning off iCloud did not fix the issue for me. Any help would be appreciate.

Moving the cursor as soon as it appears on screen solves the issue, at least for me. I'm on Ventura 13.0.
