Another question…. To link this to my Mac Mini M2 Pro would I be best using Thunderbolt 4, HDMI or look to buy a Thunderbolt to mini-DisplayPort adaptor?
I’m thinking use Thunderbolt 4 but thought I’d ask in case I’m missing something.
Both thunderbolt 4 and HDMI are able to display 6k using the M2 pro but I think some of the hub features and possibly the webcam May require a Thunderbolt connection unless you connect another USB C upstream cable. As it comes with a 1.5m Thunderbolt 4 cable, I‘d just use that.

If the only device you're connecting is the Mac Mini then use Thunderbolt.

I would use Thunderbolt. HDMI2.1 would give you video only, which leaves half the benefit on the table. Thunderbolt gives you a full plethora of ports and interfaces, PLUS video.

Of course the will do that. Thats pretty much almost certain as that was the path before.

2-4 months and we will see this panel going to other monitors.

Is the U3224KB a matte display?

And is there any precedent for Dell doing both matte and glossy variants when they re-use the panels on multiple display designs?

Last year Dell announced the U3223QZ at CES, and it was available for purchase at the end of March, but the U3223QE had a simultaneous announcement and release in February. So the version without a webcam was actually available first. LG also announced their version, the 32UQ85R, at CES, though it wasn't available for purchase until later in the year. We're almost half way through the year now with no information about a standalone release, so I'm not so sure we're going to have another version of it soon.

The MSRP price difference between the U3223QZ and QE is $450, $360 if taking current discounts into account.

My order is delayed and is now expected next Monday as well. I asked for a reason and was told it's due to a part shortage. I asked if they have shipped any orders for this monitor yet but they didn't have that information.

Ok, looks like we will have to wait a little longer. Thanks for the update

I just received mine with the intent of using it with a 2019 16" Macbook Pro. Unfortunately, that combo doesn't seem the most stable. At the default (scaled) resolution (3200x1800) in macOS, it's only able to drive it at 30Hz (over Thunderbolt 3/4). I've tried various dongles with HDMI 2.0b or Displayport 1.4 to no avail. I'm unable to get it to run at 60Hz. I have to drop to either 2560x1440 (Scaled) or 4k (unscaled) to achieve 60Hz. This is unfortunate for me since my Intel MacBook Pro (and I need the intel part for a VM) is my work computer and the computer I'd most want to use with this display.

That said, the display has no trouble with a 2021 M1 Macbook Pro and is able to drive it in all scaled modes at 60Hz. It's also similarly fine and able to be driven at full resolution and speed with a Razer gaming laptop.

Sorry to hear that. I'm on 2017 15" MBP but when I get this (if I chose so) I will get Mx computer also so I assume it will be fine.
Do you mind posting pictures here for us, please? Would be greatly appreciated

I will if I get a chance. I had to pack it back up (due to limited desk space) so I could work today. I plan on poking at it more later tonight (and try to get Dell support involved).

I wonder if it is a monitor driver issue with macOS. The Pro Display XDR is 6016x3384, but that is close enough to the 6144x3456 of the U3224KB that it should not be a GPU-capability issue.

Have you tried something like BetterDisplay to see if it allows you to select the native resolution of 6144x3456 or the HiDPI resolution of 3072x1728 at 60Hz?

Curious -- are you in the US, and if so what day/time did you place your order?

Sorry to pile on, but can you please confirm that your M1 can drive the display at 6144x3456; not just 6016x3384?

Also, I'm super jealous that you got yours so quickly!

Yes, it was displaying the display's full resolution of 6144x3456.
