iPhone 15/Plus Do You Think iPhone 15 is Like an S Model?

They removed the S model back then, but it always seem to be in between major upgrades. Been reading some stuff in Youtube comments and in Reddit that 15 feels like an S type of an upgrade.

Do you agree to this? Or was 14 the S?

The S terminology isn’t relevant anymore. Apple moved away from that naming convention and it’s been many years now since they’ve used it. It’s really just worth it to ask, is this year’s model enough of an upgrade from what I have now to justify upgrading?

We’re a bit spoiled because we know iPhone 16 Pro/Max will be a brand new taller form factor. I’d say the 15 Pro/Max is an S-level update because of that along with the same camera sensor as 14 Pro/Max.

The regular 15/Plus is a big upgrade however.

When I remember correctly the 6S had a different material than the 6.

It's possible Apple keeps the 15 Pro design for the 16 Pro models BUT... The brand new iPhone ULTRA Model might be the one that will have the new design that is taller and facetime under display.

Standard 15 is a decent(ish) upgrade from the standard 14 but the 15 Pro is basically an iPhone 12sss Pro .

No way, 12-13 or 13-14 was an S upgrade perhaps, 14-15 is a major step. At least for the baseline phone.

I don’t know if it makes sense to discuss the standard iPhone to be a “S” version or not. The “pro” became the iPhone which was once named simply “iphone”. The standard is now something like the iPhone 5C was.

i’ve been using iphones since the 3g, the pro is a new tier device with features few people need. the 5c was the iphone SE of its time.

5C had same case but different material and last years SOC. Quite the same as standard iphones now.

It all depends on the model you're upgrading from. Of course a 14PM owner is going to be less wowed than someone who's used to something older. I'll be upgrading from an XS Max to the 15PM and it's going to be awesome.

Every phone since the 13 has been an S model.
If it wasn’t for screen scratches, battery wear, and the upgrade program, there is no reason to “upgrade”.
