iPhone Downloading SMS / Messages to a pdf or text file

All I want to do is download a conversation of iMessages into a text file from my iPhone onto a PC. Does anyone know of a free way to do that?

Actually Apple should provide a utility to do that, I shouldn't need to buy a third party utility to do it.
