Molly, your photos are gorgeous (as are many others in this thread). It's giving me a kick in the butt - I looked back over my photos from 2023 and I'm sad to say that there are very few that I would call "favorite." It was a year full of change and multiple losses in my personal life, but that's just excuses. I need to make a point to get out and shoot more. I will say, I moved across the country to be closer to family, including a young niece and nephew, so I have been quite busy taking photos of them - there are a bunch that I think are great, but I'm not going to share them here (well, maybe one with no face) and they're not things I would print as "art photos" to hang on my wall.
I'm including a few here that bring me joy, even though they're not really photos I would print. I know the cat one is not even in focus, but I love that I was able to capture the moment, and it is demonstrative of the kitten's personality.
I also found two unused rolls of 35mm film in a box of old 8mm film reels that I took from my grandma's place after she passed in 2018 (finally got around to digitizing the reels), so I took them to my parents' for Christmas along with my old manual Nikon SLR figuring it would be an interesting way to document the kids/family, hoping the film was not totally useless. I would guess the newest it could be is from the '80s, but could have been older. It definitely deteriorated, but got some identifiable images out of it 😂 Some I think are really nice, but again not going to share the kids. But anyway, that inspired me to give film an honest try for pretty much the first time in my life. I bought a Mamiya M645 1000s from eBay, and a few rolls of film are on the way. If I get anything good maybe I'll share some here.
