Exactly! Resting on their laurels. In fact, how about invent something original to stay ahead of the game instead of keeping up by imitation? There's only room for so many Samsungs in the marketplace.

Nokia had huge brand loyalty which they threw in the rubbish bin by becoming a Windows Phone outfit.
They should have ditched Symbian sooner and really gone for Maemo - the N900 and N9 were decent and they should have slugged it out. The N9 showed how someone other than Apple could do a 'slick' mobile OS. Even now Jolla (which will, sadly, probably ultimately fail) gives a frustrating 'what might have been' for one-time Nokia fans.

I suspect this goes a lot deeper than just Nokia / Apple....
For example:
Suunto. I do a fair bit of diving, and bought my first Suunto dive computer back in 1991. At the time it felt like something out of the space shuttle. Fast forward to 2014, and the Suunto dive computer has hardly changed. Now brand new ones look like the sort of thing you've had for years and they're being outcompeted by small start up companies. Surprisingly quickly they've gone from being an expensive 'must have' to a somewhat unappealing budget / starter choice.
Polar: Recently bought a Polar heart rate monitor (again having had one years ago) - have been surprised at how little they've changed too. If anything I think I preferred my previous 1990's one!

It appears the Finns are complaining Nokia has managed its business to emphasize licensing, a capital asset, rather than manufacturing, a labor intensive old world industry.
Perhaps they should onshore their manufacturing as a response? Lower the minimum wage for Nokia in particular?

No way Apple is to blame for their woes. Just today I received an email from Citibank exhorting me to go paperless. Same for all other business or non-profit entities that frequently bill or inform. Even emails from business contacts contains phrase as to please do not print this email.

all i was saying is that people should take the time to read before commenting and realize that world is not anti apple.
but i am interested in seeing how a post critizing a poor headline and article is worthwhile and adds something while one that criticize a posts for not reading is not.
