Hi,

I ordered one a few weeks ago for my Rev C when the price was $100 higher. I absolutely LOVE it. It is a WONDERFUL monitor and is a great companion to the MBA.

Looking to upgrade from a Rev. A MBA to either a 15" MBP (antiglare) or Rev. C MBA w/ SSD and Apple LED.

That said, I do have a couple of questions for those with the 24" Apple LED and Rev. C MacBook Air combo:

  • How well/(poor) does the MBA run in closed-lid mode? And, is there concern of damaging the machine if run in closed-lid mode for prolonged periods of time?
  • Are the fans trigger happy?
  • Any sluggish activity (beachballs of death included)?
  • How's video conferencing via iChat?
  • Is heat dissipation any better from Rev. A?
My apologies for the succession of questions, just looking for some clarity as I've heard conflicting reports while reading-up on these issues.

Appreciate the help.

avigalante,

1) No problems with clamshell mode. The computer is designed for it. Just don't block the vents.
2) & 3) Depends on what you're doing.
4) Don't know
5) The random core shutdown has been fixed, and there's better thermal management, but don't block the vents.
