Check if SIP still disabled.

Do you mean that I must keep SIP disable?

Typically, SIP can be re-enabled after rebooting, once the kexts are cached. However, anything messing with your installation, like a system update, will cause macOS to block the kexts. This can also happen if you boot into another installation and then return.

To avoid this headache, I simply run SIP partially disabled:
Code:
csrutil enable --without kext --without fs
The "kext" option should be enough for AppleALC. But I found that "fs" is also needed for NightShiftUnlocker.

Using Lilu, whatevergreen and apple alc.
I can confirm Audio working with Mojave and GTX 780.

No further Bootarg was needed and sip seems enabled after initial install of Kext and making sure everything was loaded.

Updated to 10.14.1 and now macOS don't boot up... Any ideas?

Maybe the unsigned kext pretend macOS from booting?

In my case, the update went without a hitch. On first reboot, Lilu and its plugins worked as expected.

However, if you suspect that Lilu and its plugins are preventing your system from starting up normally, you could try booting into recovery and use terminal to add the "-liluoff" boot argument or simply delete the kexts.

Or hold shift to boot to safe mode, then remove the suspected kext.

It was super easy to fix.... but I spent 2 hours on finding a solution
My Mac Pro decided to "forget" his Bootvolume.
When I started my Mac, all that showed up was a crossed out circle.
I had to simply press alt while booting and to reselect my Bootvolume. ( I only have one)

Thanks for the replys!

Mojave 10.14.1
Mac Pro Early 2009
Radeon RX 560 4096 MB
Asus MX299Q connected via HDMI

Thank you, that worked perfectly.
My only problem is not volume control from my keyboard at the moment now......I read about installing SoundFlower, any better options before I try that?

thunder72fr made a post in the PULSE RX580 ROM study thread about that he can get HDMI audio working properly in Mojave with just Lilu.kext and AppleALC.kext installed.

I further tested it on my own cMP and confirmed it can work. And the process is simpler than HDMIAudio.kext + AppleHDA.kext patch.

However, I have no idea if this method also work on any other cards. If we can confirm this method work on most cards, or figured out the specific conditions, then I think I can put this method in the sticky thread.

So, if anyone looking for HDMI / Displayport audio, please try the following steps.

1) Disable SIP (in my case, I disabled Gatekeeper as well, not sure if make any difference)

2) Make sure HDMIAudio.kext is NOT installed. If it's installed, REMOVE it from the System/Library/Extension folder.

3) Make sure the AppleHDA.kext is NOT patched. If not, revert it (you should always make a backup of the original kext before patch it)

4) Download AppleALC.kext V1.3.2 (Link)

5) Download Lilu.kext V1.2.7 (Link)

6) Download KextUtility V2.6.6 (Link)

7) Unzip everything

8) Open Kext Utility (enter your admin password as required), it will auto perform some maintenance job, let it finish. You will see something like this
screenshot-2018-10-14-at-03-46-47-png.794679

9) Drag Lilu.kext into the Kext Utility window. Again, enter password as required, and let it finish its job.
screenshot-2018-10-14-at-03-47-39-png.794678

10) Drag AppleALC.kext into Kext Utility windows, enter password as required, and let it finish its job
screenshot-2018-10-14-at-03-49-04-png.794682

11) Reboot

N.B For Nvidia card users, you may need WhateverGreen.kext V1.2.3 (Link) as well. If the above steps doesn't work, you may install this kext (via kext utility) and try again.

After test, please leave a post and tell us your graphic card model with details. e.g. Sapphire PULSE RX580 8GB, but not just RX580.

And which OS you are running (with build number).

For Nvidia card users, please also state if you need WhateverGreen.kext to make it work. Million thanks in advance.

This link now goes to fake links and improper content. (Download KextUtility V2.6.6 (Link)

Is it possible to obtain it elsewhere?

Thank you.

I'd never succeeded with the old method until today.

Thanks to all involved !!!

Mac Pro 2009 (5.1 firmware) /Sapphire Pulse RX580 8Gb.

However, I don't know why, since I update to 10.14.1, I have screen flicker that I did not have on 10.14 (only on 10.13 and 10.14.1) ?
