What’s your average brightness level? Is it usually that low?

Had your average brightness level been around 70% how much would your battery consumption increased?
It is usually below 50% when am home, and around 60% when am outside. I spend most of my time outside the home so the brightness is always about 60%.

Your battery life is probably double that of my X. Or at least 70-90% more.

On the 8+ I am finding that apps with high GUI usage are burning through the battery faster than 12.2.
After 6 hours of use (screen time) it s down to under 20%.

Heckfire 53%
Safari 27%
ProtonMail 11%
Google Maps 3%

Ran into a bug I have been able to repeat.

I was in the ABC7 news app reading an article. It showed an address in the text. (Long Beach Shooting) I hilighted the address and used the lookup function. It opened it in Apple Maps to the wrong location but showed the address text I had selected.
If I open Apple Maps separately and type in the address, Apple Maps displays the correct address.

Not sure what the issue is....

Anyone else‘s cover art in the new TV app messed up?
The movie Artistocats shows the cover art from spain „Los Aristocatos“ or the disney version of 20.000 leagues under the sea says the german one „20.000 Meilen unter dem Meer“
Same goes for the Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries and 12 Angry Men.

Has anybody else had the install app button not work in the app store?

Not the button when you are on the full preview page for the app, the one in search results.

It happens with my 5s but not with my 6s.

I have had this occur several times. You press update, it spins for a few seconds and then resorts back to the Update button. Usually after a few tries it will work.

Don't know if it is the OS update or what....
My 8+ got really hot this morning (was listening to YouTube Music) on the lower left edge.
Then it died. :(

Guess I know what I will be doing on Monday ...
Crap.

Guess the issues I have been having with my 8+ may be something else.

When it happens for me it won't even spin, it just ignores my touch.

12.3 seems fine on my MAX. My coworker (she has an X) and I still get the stuck key on the keyboard when typing occasionally.

After upgrading to 12.3 I started to have issues with the Favourites widget. Sometimes the 4 favourite contacts that you see by default gets moved lower so the main/Facetime/etc text gets cut off from the bottom. If I then tap show more and show less again the contacts get properly aligned again.

iPhone 8+ Battery life is trash on this os

Good, it's not just me. But the battery life on my 8+ is horrid as well. I've dipped below 20% several times since updating to 12.3, which is the first iOS version this phone has ever seen where that's happened. I've restarted a couple times, nothing.

Since updating to 12.3, my iPhone XS Max speakerphone volume is much lower and the sound muffles. Don’t know if it’s because of iOS 12.3 or it’s just a coincidence and that my speakerphone is about to give up.

iPhone XS,
overnight drain under the same conditions:
iOS 12.2 - 3-4%
iOS 12.3 - 10-11%

Another strange issue is that when I restarted my phone wi-fi was ON,
though it was OFF before restart (I mean fully OFF in settings).

I don’t think XS is supposed to drain on iOS 12. Overnight. X I can accept.

My iPhone X typically drains 4-7% overnight. Over 6-10 hrs. Assuming background app refresh etc is off. This is on Wifi. On 4G it drains a bit less I think.

Managed to fix battery drain.
Had to make 3 consecutive reboots, before each reboot I turned OFF wifi in settings,
and after reboot it was ON again.
After third reboot the wifi setting finally unsticked - it was OFF.
And drain has gone.
Something is definitely wrong with iOS settings.

What’s the overnight drain like now with and without wifi?

Also, is there any difference in screen on time over the day or just in overnight standby?
