I was having so many sluggish moments on iOS 15 with my XR I had to do a wipe and fresh install.

Safari was unusable and would turn the phone into a pocket warmer, the entire UI was sluggish and infuriating.

After the fresh install it’s back to mostly behaving normally, occasionally I’m getting a stutter over Bluetooth with my AirPods or Sony XM4’s.

This is Apple’s way of signalling you to buy a new latest model. Wasting time by using old laggy phones is not environmentally friendly according to Tim Apple. It’s environmental thinggy you see.
Hmm. You are not forced to move to iOS 15. Besides, buying any smartphone at any time is not environmentally friendly.

It’s just iOS 15 being buggy. I see less stutters on 15.0.2 but the other bugs are still there.

Hey there,

My XS feels overall sluggish and slower since I updated to iOS 15. Typing feels somewhat laggy, the animation of going from locked screen to main screen drags a bit, the gesture to expose all open apps sometimes gets a bit ‘stuck’, etc.

Anyone else experiencing this? I’ve had the new iOS for a week now.
Cheers
Nope. Felt sluggish on my wife's XS for a few hours but then was as snappy as always. Maybe time to factory reset and set it up again?

My XR doesn't feel sluggish, but i have noticed the animations on iOS15 are a bit choppy at the moment, or have slight delays. But assume this will be sorted in a point update.

iOS 15.1 feels better to me. But the battery life isn’t that good anymore. Can’t wait to get my 13 Pro Max soon.

I decided to install the iOS 15.1 RC beta and though it feels snappier it still makes this stutter when closing apps, but a lot less frequently as it used to do on iOS 15.0.1 / 15.0.2.

Battery seems fairly good as it was replaced just this month as I told early on this thread, achieving around 6 hours of screen usage (SOT?) with no drains.

For me 15.0.2 has been smooth on my iPhone XS, notifications are just totally borked so I don't recommend updating to it.

iOS 15.1 Final is out. I will install it and report back if there is any improvement in performance.

iOS 15.1 seems to have restored the Geekbench score back to iOS 12-13 days, around 2800 for A12 devices - smoothnes maybe restored?. I don't have my Xʀ anymore but iPad 8 actually seems smoother, even tho I didn't have problems with it necessarly, I can feel the snappiness, especially when in Safari and pinching out to window views.

For about 97% I had no issues on my XS. The other 3% where stutter issues when closing apps on iOS 15 (not always).
I just updated to 15.1. I will report back if the stutters came back or not.

Just made a clean install on my Xs max while my iphone 13pm was updating and i feel the phone is not sluggish at all. Works fine, not as smooth as the 13pm 120hz but it’s more than adequate for daily use for sure. It will be my backup in case something happens to my 13pm

I tried iPhone 13 Pro Max and even this phone had some issues with animations. It’s visible but not as on 60hz display. I’m suprised that display is not as fast as OnePlus with Oxynes OS. No wow effect.

First impression: everything seems smoother. Every animation is smooth. No stutter so far
