If you preview widgets in Xcode 14.2, then select iPad Pro 12.9, you will see lock screen widgets on the iPad - the circular widget too big, misaligned, the rectangular only slightly misaligned. So it could be no big act to bring it to iPadOS 16.
I personally hope Apple make alignment changes on the lock screen for the iPad... there's too much wasted space, especially on the 12.9" model.

Everything is centered as if it's an iPhone... whereas the iPad should differentiate itself and have a two-column layout on the lock screen (like before). And if not like this below... give users more customization on where to place items since there's more screen real estate compared to the iPhone.

The lockscreen and notification system on iPadOS is literally a waste of screen space.

Swiping in from the LH-side on the desktop should bring up a whole page of widgets instead of a scrolling column together with a list of notifications aligned where the current widget column sits.

On the lockscreen these would be LH-aligned with widgets or complications in the other space.
