I’ve had my phone since launch day and I just hit 99% on my iPhone 12 Pro. I’m interested to see where everyone else is sitting with their phones ... EA78F946-C871-4D0B-8C12-A0BAA54F6636.jpeg

Launch day 12 Pro max, still at 100%. Not a heavy user and only charge it till 80% then I take it off. I do have the Weebo plug that can have it scheduled when to turn on and off. I have set it to turn on every day at 5:30 am and by the time I wake up at 6 am, it's at 80%. When I go to bed it's usually sits around 60%.

I'm at 99%. I've had my 12 Pro since Nov. 3, 2020.

According to coconutBattery, it has 35 charge cycles.

I keep mine topped off during the day because I listen to a lot of podcasts, but I'm not doing any fast charging because the battery never reaches 80%. I do use MagSafe with the 20 watt charger.

If I lose 1% every three months, it would take the phone 5 years to reach 80% capacity.

Release date iPhone 12 Pro

  • iOS Battery Health: 100%
  • Cycle Count: 101
  • Coconut Battery Health: 100%
  • Coconut Battery Design Capacity: 2815 mAh
  • Coconut Battery Full Charge Capacity: 2887 mAh

Charging habit so far;

  • Used 5W charger exclusively
  • Never used fast charging or wireless charging of any kind (except one charge on magsafe but then immediately returned it)
  • Kept charge levels between 25% - 85% religiously (I have a smart plug that stops charging when it reaches 85%. See my post HERE)
I believe with these simple steps, I'll be keeping the battery healthy as long as possible.

Nice breakdown, thanks! I find the Coconut Battery full charge capacity to fluctuate, at what charge % were you at when you read the 2887? Do you have any idea when it would be most accurate? I would think 100%, right?

I was around 80 percent. Based on previous readings, it only fluctuates within only 5 mAh so not much difference I guess

The battery health on my iPhone 12 Pro dropped to 99% after only owning it for 3 months. This got me really upset (more than it should have) for the past few days. On my last iPhone, a XS Max, the battery health stayed at 100% for over a year.

Thinking it through, I think it's a combination of factors that has lead to the battery health on the 12 Pro dropping so fast:

1. This is a smaller phone than the XS Max, so it has only 2815 mAh battery versus 3174 mAh in the XS Max battery.
2. I have used the hotspot feature on the phone more frequently at my new address because my Comcast internet goes out so often here. Using a phone as a hotspot puts a lot of wear and tear on it and the battery because it heats up the phone.
3. I am using MagSafe wireless charging, which also heats up the phone more than the 7.5W Qi charging I was using before.

So, it still sucks, but it begins to make more sense. What comforts me is that I do have monthly AppleCare+, so if I keep the phone long term, I can get a battery replacement paid for by AppleCare+ at some point.

My iPhone 12 Pro is down to 99% too. Was quite surprised after less than 6 months. Is that normal? I’ve never really monitored it. My iPhone 8 Plus is over 3 years old and at 88% so I suppose that works out at losing around 2% battery health every 6 months.

Not the Pro or Pro Max, but my 12 delivered late October is still sitting at 100% after moderate to heavy use most days. I do have optimized charging turned on and never top it up or let it drain fully so I think that’s been helping keeping it at 100% more than 5 months later.

never experienced anything like this before but my capacity is at 94% on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Battery life sucks, my phone gets hot when doing simple tastes like texting - having the brightness at around 50% with auto brightness off. Every week since the last 3 weeks I’ve been losing a percent. Is this normal ?
I have AppleCare and I will take the phone into a store.
Coconut battery is telling me my cycle count is 120 cycles.

What did you use to charge it and at what wattage?
Most of the time I charge it on my MacBook, or in my car on the usb.
I never let it go below 75 % .
I called Apple this afternoon they tested my phone and told me everything is normal , no hardware problem…
