Hi everyone,

I just experienced a video recording problem of my iPhone.
It’s iPhone 14 pro running iOS 16.01.
I wanted to record a video in an arcade. The whole camera area in screen turned black, recorded footage as well, swipe to other picture mode (picture, pano, portrait etc)then the issue disappeared , issue will back in video and cinematic mode.

I went to camera settings tried several changes. Eventually found “HDR video “setting on will cause this issue. Not only in complex light source place like arcade but also in very common cloudy outdoors.

Generally, if I switch on “HDR video” , all the video record is black, if switch off, no problem

Does anyone else experience the same issue? I googled but didn’t find much information about this.

Cheers

Update.
The problem is totally gone after restarting my phone.
The previous HDR footage which displayedin total black now display normally after restarting.
Seems HDR video recording itself has no issue, the glitch comes from displaying HDR video before restarting my phone
