Let's hope the colours are a bit punchier, the washed-out shades of "Easter special" promo really do nothing for me.
Let's start a color wishlist! For instance:
Imminent Yellow
Android Green
Greenback Dollar
Grey Shark (Pro, of course)
Black Widow (badass)

Apple's iPhone 16 Plus may come in seven colors that either build upon the existing five colors in the standard iPhone 15 lineup or recast them in a new finish, based on a new rumor out of China.

iPhone-16-Camera-Lozenge-2-Colors.jpg

According to the Weibo-based leaker Fixed focus digital, Apple's upcoming larger 6.7-inch iPhone 16 Plus model will come in the following colors, compared to the colors currently available for the iPhone 15 Plus:
iPhone 15 Plus (2023)iPhone 16 Plus (2024)
BlueBlue
PinkPink
YellowYellow
GreenGreen
BlackBlack
White
Purple
The leaker did not provide any more context beyond the model name, so it is unclear if the alleged color options are exclusive in whole or in part to the iPhone 16 Plus, or whether they are set to be available across both the iPhone 16 and its larger equivalent. Given that the two models are expected to be identical apart from their size difference, the latter possibility seems most likely.

This is the first rumor we have received about potential colors for the standard iPhone 16 models, and the leaker has an unproven track record for accurate leaks, so the colors given await corroboration from other sources before we can consider them to be correct.

As for the iPhone 16 Pro models, rumors suggest they could come in new "space black" and "rose" titanium colors. The Blue Titanium color that iPhone 15 Pro models are currently available in will allegedly be dropped from the iPhone 16 Pro lineup in favor of the new rose color. Meanwhile, "space black," which is said to be similar to the iPhone 14 Pro color of the same name, will replace Black Titanium.

The Natural and White Titanium colors are also rumored to be slightly different on the iPhone 16 Pro models. Natural Titanium is said to be returning, but with more of a gray tint to it. Meanwhile, White Titanium will appear more like a "silver white" color, which is also said to be similar to the silver version of the iPhone 14 Pro.

The iPhone 16 lineup is expected to be announced in the fall.

With all due respect can Apple still innovate the iPhone?

I’m curious to see this secret roadmap that seems to get smaller and smaller.

Maybe we’ll see the glowing iPhone logo that we wanted back on the original release?
what is there to innovate I may ask? What can't the iPhone do currently that may grant everybody to say, "wow"?

"Natural titanium with more of a gray tint to it" sounds perfect. I wanted to like the natural titanium but found it too beige in certain lighting conditions.
I feel my 15 Pro natural titanium has never looked beige in any light conditions tbf.

I just hope the iPhone 16 line up doesn’t have the dull washed out colors of the iPhone 15 line up. They look terrible.

The other day I was thinking of the nice colours we had on our Mac's with Mac OS-X 10.1 - 10.3 with Aqua. I miss that.
But now... the iPhone is just like the European car market... dull, tasteless pale or no colour at all. Fortunately we can compensate with a colourful case, and I need a rugged case anyway.

You really want to show some "courage" bring all of these colors to the pro lines as well. Enough with the boring ass bland colors they release each year for the pro.

I don’t understand how thousands of people working on the iPhone only to give it so little innovation year on year. What do all the well paid engineers do? Are they prevented from doing their best by sales and marketers? The camera module is from Sony and Apple is years-late before adding higher res and a periscope lens. Admittedly iPhones chips are great but each iteration is really just more of the last. iOS does little new - Siri is still dumb and Aug reality/Ai is missing. macrumors can’t even publish any worthy exciting rumors anymore. It’s about antitrust and the eu and of course new iPhone colors.

This is the reason Apple spends billions on screen technology and having the best calibrated screens. If you viewed those phones on a non-calibrated screen (by that I mean with the brightness turned up to 51% and saturation at 49%) they would just looks white.

Someone needs to tell Tim Cook that hardware colors are not innovation. The iPhone 16 marks the sixth year in a row that Apple reused the iPhone 11 design. In other words, if the iPhone 16 were to be given an honest name, it would be named iPhone 11sssss.

I currently have a dark green iPhone 13 and think it's the best shade Apple has ever released. I absolutely hate all of the iPhone 15 colors. I go caseless, so the color of my phone actually matters to me. Whether Apple can release some darker shades of colors with the 16 will determine whether I upgrade to the 16 or wait and hope that the 17 offers something better. I refuse to buy a Pro iPhone just to get a decent shade.

Hope the colours are brighter this year. The colours on 15 are too pale. Not happy with those kind of colours.

We are well into the iterative point of iPhone development. All the innovation happens on the most expensive model and then features drip down to the lower model in a predictable way that gives Apple a roadmap for improvements to market new phones on. For example, the 5x telephoto lens will come to the 6" iPhone Pro this year, LTPO/Promotion is scheduled to come to the iPhone line next year.
Of course they will do product differentiation by adding different features on different models.
But how is that innovation?
Let's mount some new-ish tech that arrives from a supplier into this year's top model! And next year, we move it to a cheaper model.

Oh Apple… where are the days?

iPhone 13:

Yep, as far as I can recall, iPhone 13 had one of the most gorgeous color lineup. From the Midnight, my favorite, to the Starlight, including the Product(RED), the blue, and the dark green one. Bold new colors.

Lets hope that the iPhone 16 models have a bit darker, more saturated colors. Even if it’s just a bit. That might be the case if they are adding a white one.

No wonder people are keeping phones 3-5 years these days. I buy the Pro iPhones but they are just as dull as the mainstream standard iPhones.
