Nintendo DS: 561,000
Wii: 381,780
PlayStation Portable: 290,100
PlayStation 2: 270,760
Xbox 360: 198,440
Game Boy Advance: 113,870
PlayStation 3: 98,470

Seems a little later than usual.

Wii sells 90k more than PS3 and 360 combined. That's almost as much as another set of monthly PS3 figures.
DS. Nothing is stopping it.
GBA is so tremendous.

PSP sales see a nice surge after the price drop.
(one more drop and numbers may be closer to the DS than some expected)

PS3 gets an additional 20k sales from its price cut as well.
Now all we need are those games....right jimmi? ;)

What it needs is to have a base cost of a 360 and games for it to stand a chance against even the 360.
It'll take a veritable miracle for it to reach even PS2 figures.

We'll see a slow yet improved climb later this year....with the first price cut already past us here in Americas and a few Big Hits coming this fall(Heavenly Sword, Lair, Warhawk, and Little Big Planet) - PS3 will definitely gain some of the ground that was lost early on. Especially with the current MS blunders in the public eye. But then again I don't expect a whole lot this year.

I can't belive people are still buying the GBA

Wii sells 2 x the amount of 360
360 sells 2 x the amount of PS3

Interesting... DS surely has to be this current gen winner globally. DS is the new PS2 :D

I found a comment floating around saying "the DS is the new PS2, the GBA is the new SNES". I suppose this puts the PS3 as the new N64 (juuuust about when Nintendo got complacent) and the 360 as... the new Xbox?

I highly doubt it....the PSP is still about 1/2 of DS says....in the US. DS basic eats everything else in Japan

I'm not talking total numbers buddy, only month to month(US numbers only). ;)
Right now its about half, and it could be smaller than that very soon.

I expect both to have excellent Holiday seasons this year.
There are a lot of good games for both systems that will hit this fall.
And I think both Companies are content with their unit pricing going into the holiday shopping season.
But I do expect some serious bundles - as already announced by Sony
(wheres the extreme DS+Contra bundle!?! lol)

The game will be released in North America on August 20, 2007. :(

They are advertising it loads on TV too with Nicole Kidman.

However you get Lair on August 14th and we have to wait till the end of September so swings and round-a-bouts I guess.

Suffice it to say.....Nintendo is happy!

As far as software titles go, PS2 had one less title than 360 in the top 20(5 and 6 respectively), while PS3 and PSP are non-existent.

Thank you Jah...I'm so Blessed
PSP still making its way evn though its not the top of the hill in handheld wars....glad to see that the little bugger is still doing good.

I think we'll see some big changes next year this time with the wii still on top(worldwide) and the 360/PS3 gap closed in....its a start and maybe the end of all this "teh doomed" crap.

I think everyone has two DS...pink and enamel green..eww

Bless

Ah right, so the constant criticism about "lack of games" on the PS3 front has nothing to do with it?

I'm certainly not saying that.

But a parent faced with 3 choices of "modern" gaming rigs is probably more likely to shoot for the kid-friendly $250 model, rather than the $400 or $600 model, no?

Personally, I believe that's the primary contributing factor.
