Same here. I get the message CANNOT CONNECT TO THE APP STORE. I chatted with Apple support and they directed me to a lame page of instructions telling me to check their status page, check my internet(duh), check for updates, blah blah blah.
So, I just wiped this early 2011 Macbook Pro and installed only Windows 10 1809 version DVD with no MacOS on it. So far so good. Used the bootcamp drivers and everything works. bye bye MACOS!!!
UPDATE: Welp, now Windows latest updates broke my printing capabilities somehow. So I wiped the Mac clean and reinstalled High Sierra. The app store is working now. All is good.
