Hi, looking for some help here as the country I’m in only has one authorized service provider in another city and I wanna exhaust all my options before going in.

My MBA won’t turn on. The battery status is at Replace Soon. I left it unplugged and the battery strangely died again (much quicker than usual) and now it won’t come on even though it has been plugged in for well over 24 hours. I had a similar issue the day before, but after charging for about 5-10mins it came on. MagSafe has no light. However, when I plug the same charger into another working MBA it shows a light, and when I plug that same charger back into the dead MBA it lights up orange and hasn’t turned green. I’ve tried a SMC reset several times, tried another working charger, another outlet, cleaned the charging port and even given it a mild shake. Nothing works. The only good sign I think is the screen does technically come on. It shows the charging symbol (charging box, one red bar, lightning bolt under) when the charger is plugged in and this changes to the ‘needs to charge’ symbol when I remove the charger. The Apple logo on the back does light up as well when I try to power on. Haven’t heard any fans and of course the keyboard doesn’t light up either. I haven’t tried opening it up yet as I wanted to see if there were any less drastic options. I know this is a lot of info but I wanted to be as detailed as possible. Thanks in advance!

P.S. Totally new to forums, sorry if I did something wrong!

I would strongly suspect that replacing the battery, which you already know to be faulty, would solve the problem.
