This is all scarily true. Just upgraded 8 days ago from 6s to 11 (NOT Pro or Max) and Display Zoom worked fine until this morning when I downloaded iOS 13.2.....The feature is still there but the function has gone.

So now my 6s looks way better than the 11!

Apple Support didn’t know what was going on. Took 3 online chats and two Senior Advisors to confirm only Max and Plus models can now have Display Zoom...weird! Now all the shiny new iPhone experience has evaporated and for the first time in 8 years I’m so angry with an Apple product and service!

Hate to be that guy, but that's wrong, I still have it on the Xr with 13.2.

Yep! It still shows on my 11 but no functionality! That’s why I went through the Support rigmarole. Apparently it went to Engineering and confirmed as only functioning on larger screen sizes. Does it WORK on your Xr?

Just tested this on my Xʀ running 13.2. It seems to still work but it’s definitely not as zoomed as it was previously! Comparison screenshots between standard and zoomed:

Interesting. I’m struggling to see a useable difference. Shame, as it worked beautifully on previous 13 versions. Maybe it’s a sign I need glasses ?. I notice it HAS zoomed the wallpaper on yours though!?. For comparison here it is on 6s...which also posted to two Senior Advisors.

She's having a difficult time reading some text were she wasn't before, so to her this is a downgrade as a visual experience. Is there some work-around that I should be aware of? We've messed with font scaling but with minimal success.
So you've tried the "Text size" option in Settings > Display and Brightness and it didn't work? you can make the text bigger using that setting than display zoom ever made it, not sure why that isn't a help for her? You can make it even bigger using the settings under Accessibility IIRC, maybe worth a try?

Yeah she did that.

I'm not using it daily but apparently that hits some of what she needs but not all.

Really not enjoying the phone upgrades honestly. I wish I had gone with 8 and 8 Plus. Between this stuff, the PWM displays on the Pro phones.. the iOS 13 software bugs, the Catalina bugs.. Apple's failing at my house.

Yes, it is different between zoomed and standard.

Look under Accessibility > Vision > Zoom. That's where it is on my iPhone 11 Pro. There are a number of options available within it, including the ability to zoom full screen.

no. That's a completely different type of "zoom". The "display zoom" makes the icons etc bigger.
My gf just got an 11 pro. I have 11. We're on same iOS. I have display zoom. She does not. We both have the other "zoom" which is more of a magnifier.

Just checked it on my 6s+ and there is zero difference that I can see between standard and zoomed.

I'm behind the times having just upgraded the family from 6 series to 11 series.

While I went to the 11, my wife went from a 6 to an 11 Pro. This is the first time that I've become aware that the Zoom Display mode went away.

She's having a difficult time reading some text were she wasn't before, so to her this is a downgrade as a visual experience. Is there some work-around that I should be aware of? We've messed with font scaling but with minimal success. The size is perfect for her and the 11 a bit large, so it would seem there is now no current phone for her.

If she still has that 11 Pro —and iOS 14, check to see if it now supports Display Zoom.
