Post here if you didn't have success with the first version, and find the RC2 does a better job.

Vista, Windows 7, International, 64-bit support
Less flakiness in the payload
Cydia tar cleaned up
Improved logging with slightly more useful errors
New kernel patches, codesign errors gone. Props posixninja
Added vm_map +x, passed vm_check
No winterboard yet, but now that ball is in Saurik's court :)
Still in beta, use caution

+1 here :). RC1 just kept putting my phone in recovery mode then freezing, RC2 worked first time, love it! I was missing having a jailbroken phone, I've been jailbroken since my first gen iPhone, and then the 3G, I'm so happy now I have my 3GS jailbroken :)!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A341 Safari/528.16)

I ran RC2 over RC1 and it took 30 seconds, didn't lose anything. Errors in terminal are gone now. As mentioned above, tricker/voip don't work, I thought they only needed the vm_patch :( Guess not.

Any good tutorials out there for noobs like myself? Just got my iPhone this past week and I really don't like the idea of screwing around with my phone when I don't know what I'm doing. Hehe.

When you guys install rc2 over rc1 do your freeze icon pop up? I deleted freeze in rc1 after I install Cydia. Installing rc2 did remove the terminal errors though.

What apps are still not working under this?

The cydia apps I used a lot were supreme prefs, ssh, cycorder(wont be necessary anymore), lockinfo, pandora controls, and winterboard. I wanted to start using Cylay too.

If these for the most part work, I'm gonna consider signing a contract and getting a 3GS(I bought my current and previous iphones used).

WinterBoard does not work, I read that Cylay does not work. Can't comment on the others. Many apps relying on MobileSubstrate still aren't 100% compatible (WB, VoIPover3G, etc).
