Hi Everyone!

Below is my current setup. I would love some feedback on anything (settings, equipment adjustment, replacement, etc) I can do to maximize my network speed and efficiency.

I'm contemplating purchasing the newest edition TC or AEBS - since it sounds like they are pretty speedy.

I'm a network newb - so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers. :cool:

[Internet]--->[Router]--->[Macbook].

I live in a dorm so I have no real idea how the network here is set up but my hostmask appears to be BTinternet so it probably isn't that complicated. Oh and there are at least 60 computers plugged into that router so I wouldnt be surprised if there are various switches or extra routers throughout the building, if they are then they're probably under the floor or something because I haven't seen any...

Here is our current setup. Its ever changing, and i didnt add any of our phones/ipod touch's. The two laptops are either wireless N or gigabit, depending where they are. Our rooms are set up for gigabit, but i normally use wifi unless im doing mad file transfers. Roommate #2 is into pc's hardcore and is running 7 on all of his, while roommate 1 is on vista, and some pos hp lappy.

Pretty basic home network but the graphic was kinda fun to make. Will probably upgrade to an Airport Extreme sometime soon.

Here's what my home network currently is:

As far as why I have a cable and a DSL network going... it's a long story. But, I really don't mind because the cable network is wireless n only, and the iBook and iPhone, obviously, can't connect to it. Seeing as how they are the only two that need to be wireless that aren't capable of wireless n, the DSL serves them well. I have to have the cable network wireless n only because there is so much interference in these apartments that the signal drops out, otherwise.

you have wireless sound sticks 2 ?..the chart is alittle confusing

The Blue is Wi-Fi
The Yellow Is Ethernet
The black is USB 2.0

i would like to create a bridge to a router and then hardwire the iMac and the XBOX 360 to that router. But i don't want to buy another ActionTec Router because i already have an older Linksys router that would do the trick if the ActionTec router supported bridging.

How are you creating your network diagrams? By hand or a program?

Most crappy network ever I think.. We have 2 seperate wireless networks, because for some reason my iPhone doesn't work with the network from the wireless router, and the laptop doesn't work with the wireless network I created with my iMac:confused:
