So I just went back to iOS 11.4. Here's why:

1. Calls on other devices isn't working on iOS 12 Developer Beta 1 yet.

2. EverNote is not working well.

3. Skype doesn't work at all.

There were not many/any issues apart from the above except maybe worse battery life.

Anyway, after using my X on iOS 12 Beta 1, iOS 11.4 is nowhere near as snappy or quick. It is like my X is rather slow compared to iOS 12 which was lightning quick. It is like going back to iPhone 7 on 10.3.3 or something.

My iPad Pro 10.5s are okay on iOS 11.4, but nowhere near the speed and agility I was getting on iOS 12.

:)

Do you guys even read the whole post? Please read it again. Think of it as a comprehension test of your ability.
[doublepost=1528455125][/doublepost]For those who still didn’t get it:

I’m not criticising iOS 12. I’m criticising iOS 11.4. I was just providing an explanation as to why I still reverted to iOS 11.4 even though iOS 12 is better in every single way. :)

Sorry, but at no point do you really state what you prefer. You basically say what didn't work with the beta software and that you changed back to iOS11...

Reread your post^^ avobe How is iOS 12 better for you when you are facing problems???

iOS12 is in its infancy right now and must have bugs and glitches at some point, even Apple warns about not to install on your main phone.

Yeah...I read it again...you just need to be a little clearer when writing a post that people tend to "breeze" over. This isn't a paper we are grading, it's a forum...assume people aren't reading every single word.

Better:

"Outside of these issues with iOS12 B1 which forced me to go back to 11.4, iOS 12 is WAY BETTER than iOS11. A lot faster in every way!! Great job, Apple!!!"

;)

Point noted.

I’m going back to 12. Will use Rebtel for calling.

The current build is a Developer beta. It isn’t meant for average user daily usage. As such, your post, although well intentioned, is rather meaningless, given your complaints and the purpose of the beta.

Personally I thank you for your post OP. I was wondering what going back would feel like. Pretty much expected but still nice to see what made you do it.

I’d be on 12 if it weren’t for the wonkiness of calls and GPS. Those must work for me. Just about anything else I can live with issue.

So far on IOS 12 the only app I use that is giving me trouble is the Citibank app. My GPS and cell service have been fine, and I am still sitting at 85% battery since unplugging at 7am. It is the first time in a long time I have taken the plunge and put the developer beta on my main device, but I am really glad I did. It is running way better on the X than IOS 11 ever did.

Why do regular people install betas? These releases are not meant for you; they aren't production-ready. They're meant for developers/programmers to prepare/develop their apps on the new system before it's publicly available in september.

Where have I said whether or not I’m a developer? :)

Yeah little Akshay is definitely not a developer. Just a guy with a big mouth.

But he’s cool. He loves Apple products. He’s a good guy.

[doublepost=1528487612][/doublepost]This time my iPad Pro 10.5 is getting excellent battery life. Like 75% after nearly 4 hrs screen time.

If we are willing to take the risk, why not? It gives us some pretty cool features much earlier than the general public. I won't lie, I have been a MeMoji machine. Also, if we are actually using the feedback app, I am sure apple appreciates that. I also partition my Mac to test out Mojave, but I am not a developer.

I’m kind of torn on whether I should downgrade. I’m on iOS 12 on my iPad and iPhone. I really don’t see any major bugs I’ve encountered that would force me to downgrade. But on the other hand there aren’t any new features I’d miss if I had 11.4 on my devices again.

He knows it’s a beta. He wanted to see how it worked. It worked fairly well, but the issues he encountered prompted him to move back to 11.4 until 12 is more stable.

His feedback on 12 was actually quite positive.

Don’t think they needed their own thread when we have a beta 1 thread stickied
