Inspired by another thread where the Rigzernator commented on not looking forward to H3, and others sharing similar opinions, I'm wondering then - what games are you going to get at this present time.

I realise things change, and often a game were hoping for turns out to be a turkey and we dont buy, but without the benefit of hindsight - what are you going to get this year.

I really, really would rather get All Pro Football 2k8 as I find the gameplay to be far superior to Madden, but I just hate the whole Legends concept.

Halo 3 isn't on my list, because I don't want it. Bought Halo2 and got bored with it quickly, same with Gears of War. Those games I tend to get tired of quickly.

Most of my choice 360 titles this year all have RPG element to them. That's what I want to play - that's what I'll buy... simple as.

Halo 3 isn't on my list, because I don't want it. Bought Halo2 and got bored with it quickly, same with Gears of War. Those games I tend to get tired of quickly.

For the maybes and obvious questions people might have...
I've never played Battalion Wars so I'm unsure, but I'm interested.
I was not impressed with Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles at E3, but I enjoyed the few minutes I played of Ghost Squad were fun, I just don't if it can keep it up, so I'll wait for reviews.

Mario & Sonic didn't seem to have anything I hadn't already done in Rayman Raving Rabbids or Wii Sports, and no online play. So, I'll wait for reviews.

Ugh, I'm going to be poor.

I also might grab a PS2 to check out Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and God of War... I hate the PS2 controller, though, so it might not happen. It'll have to be really, really cheap for me to bump one of the 360 games off the list.

Buying games has gotten too expensive for me, now that I am trying to save for a house, every $50-$60 adds up.

We have a Wii and a 360 at my house, but I don't play the Wii and don't buy games for it.

for the 360 I have a very select few I will buy the second they come out:

Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed

I have gotten to the point in my gaming life were I don't need to have games the day they are out. I usually wait a few months until the price of them used is around $30-35.

Maybe some of you are going, "what is wrong with this guy?" Every Xbox game I have up to this point has been a special edition of some kind. I'm trying to keep my streak going And I can appreciate the extras of most of those games.

Rock Band (I think I'm going for the bundle, assuming the guitar is indeed wireless on the 360. I have enough friends and my sister to play with. Of course, I'll be asking for this one for Christmas. No way I can budget this one in my list)

If I'm extra good this year, I'll add a silver PSP to that list.

What I'm probably going to save for later...

Metroid Prime 3 (I leave for a school about a week after. Maybe I'll buy it and let it sit for many months...)
Battalion Wars II (see below)
Super Mario Galaxy (I'm at school so no way I'll have time for either. I'll pick them up eventually, around winter vacation)
Madden '08 (I played the '07 Wii version. I was content with it. Not amazed, but content. I hope they pull out all the stops for the Wii version. Might get me interested in the other EA Sports games)

Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (sounds like everything is included)
Guitar Hero III (especially if the Rock Band peripherals are compatible)
Call of Duty 4 (It's a wait and see for me. I can't imagine CoD-style gameplay for a game that should be done in the way of Battlefield 2)
Mass Effect (I totally missed out on the KOTOR games and Jade Empire. They sound like action-oriented RPG's which is the only RPG's I can get into these days.)

Half Life Orange Box (Getting it for the PC most likely to play with friends)

Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (is there anything else big coming to the DS in the next six months?)

I feel like this was a confession of how much I blow my money on video games...

Man, I feel poor looking at this list...of course if I manage to purchase only this it will keep me busy beyond December, kids do tend to eat up the free time and I have to sleep a few hours every night.

and the only reason I will manage 2 games is the $100 I get free for my birthday. Of course 2 kids and starting to look for a new (bigger/more expensive) house don't leave lots of free money lying around. If for some odd reason we manage to free up more funds for birthdays or Xmas I will probably consider Super Mario Galaxy, or Battalion Wars 2, or Lego Star Wars but given the big purchases we probably won't have that kind of funding available.

At least the new house already has money budgeted for upgrading the entertainment center so we might finally get an HDTV (not that it matters for games since the Wii will probably be relegated to a smaller TV in the game room, at least it will be a 35" and not the 20").
