More info. The phone is the k800i. It has an option 'USB modem'. I turn it on and then went to that website to find the settings for Orange UK. I put these into the app on the iPad. What do I do now? There is no option to 'Connect'. plus when the app is on I cant turn on bluetooth on the ipad

you wont be able to enable Bluetooth when ibluever is running. you just tap on the bluetooth connection you want to connect to. make sure that k800i has bluetooth discovery on.

Thank you SO much!!!!

It works flawlessly with my Rogers Blackberry 9700!

Edit: I spoke too soon. Connection drops every 30 seconds!

You need to find your cellular network's info to do this. Try here: http://spreadsheets.google.com/lv?k...rue&sortcolid=-1&sortasc=true&rowsperpage=250

You may get lucky and find the info you need.

Side Note:

Anyone Know if AT&T will catch on and charge you? Worked OK for me (I had to edit the chat script a bit), and note to those who say it disconnects. If you are using the demo version IT WILL DISCONNECT.

Unfortunately, no.

I have the full version and still experiencing disconnection. It is a known issue and they are working on it. It's currently using the H4 transport protocol which can't handle high traffic (3G is too fast for it), thus dropping the connection. The developer is trying to find the datasheet for the host controller (http://ibluever.blogspot.com/2010/06/can-anybody-send-me-bcm43254329-data.html) and implement H5 protocol into it.

For the time being, I am able to get everything working by using default chat script with "IPCP_NAK 1000" in the end on Rogers + 9700, SNIFF MODE. I am only getting maximum 15k/s speed and that's the only way the connection will stay connected. For regular browsing, that does the trick. With that said, I have my 3GS sitting in the same bag of the ipad to be used as purely higher speed tethering purposes, if needed.

ok this is weird but i need help

i had this working! was going fine. the problem is that i have a blackberry curve, and to get things working, i had to upgrade the OS to 5.0 in order to run pdanet 1.30. things were working, but with the upgraded os the phone was so slow, i had to roll back the os to 4.5. now i can't run pdanet because it needs at least 4.6. when it was working, i was using

#777
default non gprs

THEN i realized on the front page that this can work without pdanet! so i tried again, enabled bluetooth in the bberry setting and i get very close to connecting but get error "failed to execute chat script (default non gprs)"

here is the error log

When you stopped using PDANet, did you re-enable dial up connection from the bluetooth properties in your BB?

yes, i re-enabled dial up connection in bluetooth properties on my bb after i stopped using pdanet. however, i had to go deep into phone settings to change tethering username/password. theres a tutorial out there on how to do that. that way, PDAnet is not required.

I also am trying to do his without pdanet. Aohus, where is this tutorial? Can you please copy and paste you're connection scripts (please censor anything private)?

i used default non gprs, no custom scripts were used at all.

if you want bluetooth tethering without pdanet do the following:

For verizon users do this (for all other carriers, find out how to get to configuration service menu. i personally do not know for the other carriers):

dial: ##000000 and hit send
change sip password to your username as well (yournumber@vzw3g.com)

Ensure to hit 'Save' and the phone should do a hard reboot.

Make sure 'dial up networking' is ENABLED in your bluetooth blackberry options

start ibluever and you should be able to connect if you did everything correctly.

Has anybody had any success with a Palm Centro on the Sprint Network? Centro is listed, and sprint is listed...but not both...on the spreadsheet.

When I try to connect, I either get a Chat Error, or a Chat Time out...or no response ever such that it just hangs on the "Starting SDP L2CAP connection..."

Where would I find the settings that are mentioned for the blackberry as far as the DUN?

I do not have PDANet, but I do have a USBModem app that allows BT connection. I have used the BT connection to a Mac Laptop before, but it was unreliable, and thus have just used the USB cable connection.

Actually, I turned off the USBModem app I had, and the Chat Connection scripts don't hang...but I have tried them all...and they all fail to connect. Is there something I need to edit in the "Default Non GPRS" or "Default" Script?

Thanks!

Does anyone know if you can do this with an iPhone?

I have a jailbroken iPad on 3.2 I am trying to connect my iPhone to it however it doesn't seem to want to connect. I have watched video's where when you connect it phone providing should receive a message with a pin or something. My iPhone just sits there doing nothing..

Any ideas?

Apparently the creator of iBluever is creating a new app called iTether however it isn't out yet. I hear that it is mean to work pretty well and without all this configuration..

yeah, iPhone is not supported. you'd have to go mywi route, however, the iTether app looks promising. Its because the bluetooth on the iPhone does not support Bluetooth PAN.

Btw, I recommend tethering without using PDAnet. This would require you to go into your phone specs using QPST however.

I have successfully connected to my BB 8330 via Bluetooth, but I am getting Verizon web page that says you need to subscribe to Movile Broadband Connect...

iTether is now available on Cydia.

centro on sprint instructions:
download usb modem 1.60 app for centro
in that app, "disable built-in DUN", then connect via bluetooth.

in ibluever, apn = usb modem, #777, auth on, default non gprs

I am on AT&T and have no data plan, texting plan, nothing. I'm fairly certain my phone is capable of doing this, but i'd like to know if there is really no additional monthly fee, or if you have to have a data plan?
I was reading something else about using a phone as a modem and the lady said she could only use it during night time or weekend or else it used up her minutes... is that like this? Please help!

Ipad wifi & AT&T

I just received an iPad for Christmas, and have an AT&T cellular phone plan. How would I go about accessing my iPad wifi through my cellular phone? I am totally lost, even after reading all these forum posts. What I want to do, is use the internet on my iPad, through my phone.
Thank you for your time,
C0WGIRL
