Five years ahead of you. :)

Crashed (totaled) my RX7 (not my fault) my first month in college. So here I am away from home, no car and in a small town without any public transport.

Dad tells me me to look around and see what I can find. Just so happens there was one dealer in town, a Chevy dealer. Walked in and a black IROC had just hit the lot. So after some "negotiation" with dad, it was mine 2 days later.

Probably worth more now than what we paid.

In a coffee shop.
I love the Mercedes W140 S-Class posted by @AhmetRyzen and @Macky-Mac's absolutely gorgeous Alfa.

My own personal preferences are European (including British), and emphatically old school.

I have long loved the extraordinary Citroen DS, and used to love the E-Type Jaguar, but have come to prefer the Jaguar 150 that preceded the E-Type.

Classic Mercedes will do it for me, as will the classic 3 (or 6) series BMW.

And I love - just love - the old Rover P6; in fact, I am even partial to the old Rover P5.

Anything out of Pininfarina really.

Modern cars have really been lacklustre in my eyes.

Special mention to the bentley continental GT re-design.

I have a massive soft spot and love for the late 1990's 7 Series BMWs

I'm surprised not to see two of my favorites. The 1963 Jaguar XK-E and 1974 Lotus Europa were the best I'd seen for the longest time. The Fiat X1/9 was another that made a visual impact, for me, anyway.

Saw several of these at Barrett-Jackson last weekend. Stunned you could pick one up for under $40K OTD.

That's amazing, although I wouldn't want to bother with the hassle of what must be high mileage cars. In my market, those that I would consider are firmly in the 180k + range. You Yankees have it easy =(.

Starting in the yearly 90's, I always liked the look of the Toyota MR2, specifically the SW20. Like a pseudo-exotic race car, beautiful in looks, but with a design begging to be driven on a track.

As an adult, I searched for years trying to find a decent one in good shape, for a price I could afford. Came close to a few, but didn't work out for one reason or another.

It wasn't until my early 30's that I finally did it. I purchased a red SW20 Turbo, completely stock, and in really good shape, except the paint, which I had repainted. It is in my avatar. I love it.

Fun, fast, but really dangerous.

I used to work with a guy in the late 90s that had obsessively searched and searched for a 25th Anniversary Mustang. He eventually found one in a junkyard that had been totalled. He completely restored it and this was the car he drove to work every day. Only he modified it a bit during the restoration. His had a supercharger in it so this massive bump on the hood.

Oooo, I love this, I will be brief by keeping my selections to my favorite 2 classic and 2 modern.

Classic.

1970 GTO (my dad had one when I was little, and it is a wonderful sentimental memory)
1970-pontiac-gto-judge-hardtop-judge-hardtop

1970-1973 Datsun/Nissan 240Z (this has been a dream car of mine for a while, I'll be getting one in the next year or two as a project car)

Modern

2025 Fisker Ronin
This has such a Cyberpunk aesthetic. Fisker's designs are miles better than any Tesla. Sadly, the near $400,000 sticker is a bit out of the range my wife and I want to spend.
Fisker-Ronin-Render.jpg

2025 Ford Bronco
Again this is nostalgia fueled. Had an uncle who had a bright green Bronco when I was little

Honorable mention

2025 Fisker Ocean
This is the EV my wife and I decided to get. It's cute as hell and will be great for bouncing around New England. Sadly, we just have to wait for delivery. Still sad we can't be the stereotypical New Hampshire Lesbians™ because holy crap, there's nothing good about the Subaru Solterra.
