Recently I had purchased the iPhone X through online. At first I reset that iPhone to check whether it is linked to previous owner or not and it wasn't linked. So I take that phone by giving him his said amount. After that I came home and checked other settings and I found that sim was locked. So I tried to know it's coverage through its serial number but it shows "We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced. Please check your information and re-enter your serial number. If your information is correct, you may need to contact us". I think I have got scammed.

I haven't login to my apple id. Because I want to know whether it will lock or not after login to my apple id. If there is anyone who have faced this similar issue please share me your suggestion.

If you purchased a locked iPhone via eBay using PayPal, you are protected and can raise a ticket to obtain a full refund. If you purchased it in person with cash or outside of eBay, you are unprotected and have likely been scammed.

If you can login to Apple ID, you can use your phone. You obviously will have no warranty as the phone is an older phone. I don’t know exactly what you are asking with this post. Can you log in with your Apple ID?

If you purchased your iPhone via eBay using PayPal, you are protected and can raise a ticket to obtain a full refund. If you purchased it in person with cash or outside of eBay, you are unprotected and have likely been scammed.
Thanks but i had purchased it from other sites

As a former Apple Store employee, I can tell you that iPhone was replaced by a warranty replacement at some point and should have been returned to Apple. That phone shouldn't have been in the wild.
Sometimes this does happen on accident by an Apple Genius Bar employee fat-fingering a serial.
I'd put in a claim to eBay because you will never be able to get service for that device at any Apple store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
There are also other scenarios involving cloning serial numbers and Applecare fraud as well.

Why do you think your phone is locked? Are you unable to make a new Apple ID account?
Through my 1 day Google survey I have knew that the device should be with the apple company after the replacement. I only want to be sure whether there apple will lock this device or not ?

Thanks I had purchased this iphone form social site (Facebook market place). I have tried many ways to contact that seller but he had blocked me. Please suggest me if there is any other way to solve this issue.

Yes I can but I want to know whether apple locked this iphone or not after sign in appleid because it's a replaced device.

I suspect this is likely what happened as it happened to mine before but Apple was able to rectify it.

Can you login with your Apple ID? I don’t know if you have been scammed.

You have to do a full reset on the phone and it will have a fresh startup screen. You can then login to your Apple ID.
Yes I have rest the phone fully at the time of purchase. But when I came home and checked its serial number it's say "We're sorry...."

Just sign in to the phone– this will not lock your Apple ID. Apple won't rectify anything as this is a device that should have been returned but was not, which is why you're getting that error message.

If you have an apple store near you, just visit them and they can help you set up an appointment. You could do it over the phone. You just need a proof purchase but that might mean you'll need to contact the seller because they may need the original receipt.

Use your Apple ID; nothing bad will happen. People keep telling you this and you keep asking the question.

Stop trying to contact the seller. You posted that they've blocked you so I'm not sure why you think it'll suddenly work.

Put in whatever sim you want to use. If it won't work (cos the phone really is sim-locked; your posts make it seem like you're a bit confused by the situation) then phone every network, apart from your own, and ask them if they've locked the phone and if so to remove it.

If it really is the case, as you first posted, that the sim was locked (which is different to the phone being sim-locked) then that's fine. Throw that sim away as you're not going to use someone else's sim anyway.
