TVOS17 - ATV Remote will no longer control sound on Samsung TV and Soundbar

Didn’t want to start a new thread so asking here:
I’m now seeing a volume bar when I adjust the volume on my Sony soundbar through Apple TV. Is that part of the 17.1 update or did something start working that wasn’t before?

I still have the problem even after a total reset with TVos 17.1. Worked mostly before update to iOS17, sometimes I had to power it off and on again for it to work again. But after iOS 17 and also 17.1. update no volume and mute switch working anymore with my LG TV. I also turned the TV's CEC se4ttings off and on again. Did a power off etc. Nothing workling. Quite annyoing. And don't know what to do.

4K ATV from last generation with silver siri remote here. iPhone volume control also not working while using it as a ATV remote.

My issue is still not fixed with the latest TVOS17.1 either.

I have a Samsung TV and this has happened twice to me. This fixes it:

If the volume buttons on your Apple TV remote aren't working - Apple Support

Restart your remote. If that doesn't work, try adjusting your volume control settings.

I'm also facing the same issue and it started after an update I will try some of the things you shared in this thread and see if it gets fixed.

Restarting the Apple TV Remote fixed the issue for me.
- Press and hold the TV icon button and volume down button at the same time for ~5 seconds
- Wait for “Connection Lost” notification on Apple TV
- Re-pair the Apple TV Remote
