No quick way to download an older version, though. In an effort to get around this, I just patched the machine to Catalina, and now Brave keeps crashing. Will re-download and try again.

Its weird how much problems you have with these old Macs. It doesn't feel familiar to me at all. And with Brave - one crash in couple of years, any version and OS, even patched included.
Yes, I see that its seems difficult to download an older Brave-installer. I think I have an installer which should work with HS but, not 100% sure. Can't try it out now as I think I don't have any machines running HS anymore.

Cannot help you with that, never seen such error. Cannot find much about it in google either. Most seem to have something to do with printers or some other connectivity things. Dunno, never heard about it before.
Maybe you mentioned abandoning MacOS and going to Linux or Winblows too many times and angered Mac gods or something?
Ps. if you have a place/cloud/whatever I can send you this Brave-installer which I think might work with HS. Its 240MB.

Speedometer 3 was released earlier this week. With 2.1 I got a score of 33 with this machine. It's not as impressive with the new scale. 😅
