Both of my iPhone 14 pro max batteries are at 100% a year later. Impressive. The iPhone 15 pro max doesn’t offer enough incentive for me to upgrade. This is the first time I did not get a new iPhone on a yearly basis since 2009 starting with the 3GS

Launch day 14 pro max with 98% battery health. Phone was 95% charged via wireless / magsafe and the 5% were cable because I was traveling.

The battery life has been great and went down a bit during iOS 17 public betas but since the RC this week, its gone back to normal and I end the day with 30% instead of 10.

14 Pro - Launch day - 87%

Most week days - mounted to MagSafe desktop charger on desk
Car mount is MagSafe charger

Any apps recommended for iPhone to set max charge rate? - akin to Al Dente for Mac OS

Launch day iPhone 14 Pro is 91% and my wife’s launch day iPhone 14 Pro Max is still 100%. Don’t get how it can be that different. Makes me think I should have upgraded to a 15 Pro Max this year instead of the 15 Pro, as my 14 Pro barely makes it through the day.

Launch day 14 Pro Max. 88%. I wireless charge 99.5% of the time. Coconut battery shows 311 cycles.

I know this isn’t a solution to the source of the problem, but I noticed heavy background usage on a few apps once my battery started to nosedive. I could watch it drop by the percent.

I turned off all background activity for all apps. Instagram still gets around it somehow, but it’s significantly less than before. It feels like a Pro Max phone again this way.

My 14 Pro launch says 87% health in settings.

Checked coconut, said 92%, checked iMazing on a PC said 92%. This is with 440 cycles. So there is some difference that either Apple, understandably, know better than other apps.

Still rubbish this year in my opinion for battery, wonder if using the A16 on the 15, and 15+ will have the same issues
