99% is a cautionary tale for what is to come:

Missing that 1% meant a lot.

Launch day iPhone 14 Pro down to 93%. Never had an iPhone with less than 99% left after 1 year.

Lucky mines at 87%. Launch day pro. Literally every few days it’s dropping.

Looked at support option and Apple as expected so nothing until 80%. Does AppleCare replace after 1yr once drops to 80%?

Wasn’t going to upgrade this year, but the battery life is terrible on this, worst I’ve had.

The battery on 2 month old iPhone 14 plus has been degrading at an alarming rate after only 19 cycles. Methinks 16.5.1 has been a dumpster fire or the 14 series has just shipped with dud batteries
How accurate are these numbers? To get the capacity you would need to discharge from 100% to 0% with a defined discharge current. There are a lot of people who started at 100% almost a year ago and still are at 100% which is IMO impossible because there is no battery available w/o degradation.

The numbers align with the Analytics logs from the iPhone, so I'd be inclined to say they're pretty accurate. iPhone says battery capacity is 100% but I'm pretty sure that's not true.

I originally had a launch day 14 Pro Max, but in January 2023, I couldn’t charge it with a cable anymore so Apple swapped it out. That battery health is still 100% with Optimized Battery Charging and Clean Energy Charging turned on. I have a shortcut on where my iPhone is on Low Power Mode all day. I also charge at night with the 5w brick, my Anker charger box, and with a cable whenever I’m driving for Apple CarPlay. I don’t have a MacBook so I can’t use Coconut Battery. Here is my details via iMazing.

Mine is already at circa 85% (I use it heavily). Whats the score with getting replaced under warranty etc?

Has to be 80% or less if you have AC+ or I believe if that happens in the first 12 therefore (doubtful even heavy use).

Mines at 87% now and I have AC+ and I feel it hasn’t been as good battery this year for whatever reason, so I’m hoping it now goes to 80 asap to get a replacement, even to see if it’s any better.

94%.. bought on early October 2022. To echo what others have said, never seen Battery Health drop this much within the first year, and just a couple of weeks ago it was at 98%

My 12 Pro Max battery was dropping like that, and I had to charge twice a day at work before I got home. The 12 series had the worst battery I ever saw.

I use Waze, and that's the worst thing ever for battery health. Stick with Apple Maps if this is a concern for you.

94% here. Fastest I have ever seen a battery degrade in my hands, but it still works like new. I am not concerned at this point.

My launch day 14 Pro is still at 100% - I can tell you that I'm not doing any special charging techniques, I'm not using 5w chargers nor am I charging to only 80%. I charge with MagSafe or a USB-C PD charger when it needs to be charged. I don't have enough time / mental capacity to worry about charging my phone with asterisks.

I’m at 100% too & not doing anything special,I don’t use AOD & most of the time on low power mode,

This year fast degradation maybe due to Always On Display?

Mine was at 99% at the start of the iOS 17 beta. Currently at 94%. Not sure if it's because of the beta or not. My usage habits with it haven't really changed much. I only charge wirelessly.

I use the AOD! Good thinking though!

AOD should not have anything to do. It all has to do with how many cycles the battery has, regardless on how it is consuming it. AOD doesn’t keep the phone warm, which is the main culprit in addition to the battery.

I think we put a lot of weight on habits, if you use MagSafe or not, fast vs slow charging, when in reality is just the battery lottery, and some models get lower quality battery compared to others.

By the way, I don’t use the AOD, and have the same issue

My thoughts is using AOD means battery will drain faster, so need to charge phone earlier than without AOD, more time we charge phone means more battery cycles & faster battery degradation.

I'm sure the drain of AOD is very minimal (at least to the point where it shouldn't cause you to charge your phone that much more often) compared to actually using your phone which would be more of a drain.
