All the more reason to not trust the type of people who created the solution.

Didn't say the root cause was by EU.

Unfortunately.

Again, all the more reason to not trust the kind of people who created this solution.
This is getting off topic, but…

EU dictated that the users should be afsked if it was ok to track them. They didn’t dictate that the popup should annoy and nudge users towards agreeing to being tracked. Websites can just decide not to use cookies for tracking purposes and only use the strictly necessary cookies that expire after the session. Websites can just show random adds instead. Maybe this site can show adds for computers and phones instead of lawnmowers, because I 2 months ago searched on another site for lawnmowers.

Sounds like they don't know what they're doing. They should have predicted that websites will implement the easiest way to get rid of the popup is to hand over all of your data, and make restricting your data extremely annoying to do.

That's like requiring all subscription memberships to be cancellable online instead of forcing users to call over the phone. Website owners will just make it extremely hard to find, extremely painful to navigate, require many clicks, etc...

This is why I don't think they should be doing things like this. Their actions ruin it for everyone.

haha, it is so obvious why Apple has released this NOW, a month after the EU rules on sideloading kicked it. This is Apple's way of telling the EU they have screwed up with this decision on sideloading because look at what we (Apple) have been able to block/prevent on the app store. It is basically an indirect call from Apple telling the EU they will suffer from all the things they blocked because 3rd party app stores will not be as due diligent as Apple has been.

It should be obvious, but you obviously missed it. They released it NOW because the have been releasing it around this time for years.

yes maam I am really Google support please download this support app from reallyiamgoogle.in to give us access to your device so we can analyse the issue.
What's your point? Sideloading is the only way to get scammed?

🙃Apps on the App Store has been reviewed by Apple and is perfectly safe.🙃😂🤣😂🤣

  • 217th Rule of Acquisition: You can't free a fish from water.
  • Forest Gump: "Stupid is as stupid does."
  • Mostly Harmless: "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools."
Sideloading is an option: nothing more, nothing less. As with any tool, improper use does more harm than good. Properly used, it's a quality of life boost.
