dell released their newest ultrasharp model ,U2723QE, U3223QE ultrasharp monitor

I've read so many good reviews about U3223QE so I bought it. In my country it costs me 1400 EUR.

First one had about 7 black spots on it, looks like blurred dead pixels. They are pretty noticeable. + 1 stuck red pixel and 1 dead pixel. And all of it happened after 1 month of usage.

I had a replacement and the new one has the same blured dead pixel which is very noticable on a white background and one stuck red pixel. Plus, I have noticed bad uniformity. Right part of the screen has green color ot it while left part of the screen is red. Plus there is a small screen damage on the edge.

And guys, when you read on Dell website that these ultrasharp models imply a monitor replacement even if one pixel is found, don't believe it. Their website states that they will not send you a new monitor from the stock, they will send you a refurbished monitor. "High Dell Standards"

From what I understood, most of the people don't even check new monitors and dont notice these issues.

Soooo dissapointed with it. I have to return this trash.

At least 4 of them had dead/stuck pixels too.

I received brand new ones each time, but everything went back to Dell.

I really don't get it, especially the multiple dead pixels. How is it possible? Does the "new" black IPS is more likely to have pixels issues?

I also see a 5 cm bright spot but on gray background. Can't see it on a white background.

This green tint on the right side of the screen really bothers me although noticeable only on a bright white pages. And I think I can live with 2 dead pixels. But I dont know if I need to ask for a replacement again. Guess all these screens have this issue. Anyway I can return it anytime this year once i find an alternative.

My guess is for 1400 euros, you deserve something better than this. Dead/stucks pixels, tint differences across the screen, bright spot in the middle. That's a lot for a brand new monitor at this price point, don't you think?
I had mine(s) for 780 euros (Black Friday discount + company discount), and even at this price, this is not acceptable for me.

Have anyone experienced sometimes slightly visible horizontal lines appearing across all screen? Usually visible on gray and other neutral colors. I thought it might be because of true tone, i turned it off but they still appear sometimes.

On my MacBook Pro 16" 2019 (5500M, i9, 32GB, MacOS 13.2) every few seconds the screen just misses 2-3 frames. This is super noticeable on something like testufo.com but even when just using the system and navigating around it's bothering me to see the cursor lag. Watching videos is impossible because you will constantly be bothered with the stutters

Not sure why a setup with a 1000 EUR monitor and a laptop twice the price is suffering from such basic issues, is there a known fix for this?

Even my trackpad lags on my internal MacBook monitor when I have my U3223QE connected

Oh my god, I decided to keep an eye on the Console to correlate any events with the stutter / missing frames

Guess what? It was dell's own DDPM (Dell Display and Peripheral Manager). Closed it and the stutters entirely went away! Can't believe they'd actually create software for their own monitors that almost caused me to send it back...

After much debate and reading this entire thread I finally decided to take the plunge and ordered a 32. Received yesterday. It’s an A02 revision manufactured in Nov 2022. Happy with it so far, no issues with anything. Was $1079CAD. I’m using it with a 2018 MBP 15”.

Not sure which update killed it but Dell and Apple forums circularly point to each other for resolution with none provided. Wondering if anyone else in here has run across the issue.

From my perspective, having read all 50 pages here comparing to the 100+ pages in the ASD. I distinctly see two groups. One (here) who are complaining of the function of these monitors, and the other (ASD) who are basically saying, "I paid a lot but I don't regret it". I can't chalk it up to people simply using this forum to complain, therefore representing a minority of users, because if that were the case you'd see it largely in both threads.

My work is paying $2000 towards a desk setup and I don't even know at this point. I'd want to see those new 5/6k displays announced at CES before I make any decision. The monitor market is insanely stupid.

This is an Apple-centric forum so you're going to have a lot more Apple owners here commenting on the Apple display threads. Whereas threads for third-party accessories (like a Dell display) are going to gravitate towards people with issues and how to resolve those issues.

I bought a new U3223QE yesterday because of this discussion.
Rev A00. FW M3T101
Operating with a Macbook M1 Pro 2021.
Ips glow and backlight bleeding can be seen below.
Whether HDR on/off or USB-c or DP connected.
It's my first big monitor with IPS.

Do I have to/should I do something or will I get a worse one if I exchange it?
I can't install the FW update myself, can I?

Try to adjust your photo to how it looks to you with your bare eyes (using photo manipulation software if necessary). As the photos always exaggerate the effect due to their sensors and algorithms being much more sensitive to pulling detail from shadow and dark areas.

So right now based on those photos we can't really say, obviously it looks very bad but so will even the best monitors if you don't correct the photo to look how your eyes really see it etc

I would personally switch it, that looks pretty bad to me. But this is just my opinion.

How does it look to you when actually using the monitor, do you find it noticeable etc

I bought two Dell 27" WQHD monitors earlier this year for work. Looked pretty similar to yours but since they were only about $150 each, I kept them. You don't see it during office work with mostly bright screens anyway.

In the price range of the U3223QE and/or for personal use, I wouldn't accept it.

BTW: My partner bought work monitors in a similar price range as mine, but from a different brand. They don't have the bleeding issue (or much less). I suspect that Dells are particularly bad at backlight bleeding due to the type of construction at the underside of the frame. It changes if I press the plastic... So even if the panels are often the same across brands, sometimes the assembly technique may vary and give different results. But that's my personal theory.
