YouRace 1.1.2 is available for a couple of days on the App Store
One new feature: you can mark the kilometers or miles to adjust the distance calibration in race mode by pressing the 2 side buttons. You first have to enable this feature in settings.
I have also introduced a lot of bug fixes and under the hood enhancements.

The next version (except if I have important bugs to fix) will come with a "Pro" pack that includes some important an requested features (screen customization, Strava export, TCX export ...).
It will be a one time cheap buy, just to pay my Apple developer licence ...
The current features will remain free as promised, without ads.

YouRace 1.1.3 is available with some important bugfixes and one new feature : you can dismiss the countdown screen and start your workout immediately by one tap ...

I am happy to announce that version 2.0 will be available soon when the tests are done ...
This version will introduce a "Pro package" with new advanced features (one time small fee).
All current features will remain free without ads or limitations.
But for advance users, I will propose some nice add-ons.

First one is screen customization !
For each screen (normal, intervals, race), you can choose between 2 themes (normal and simplified) and you can select each data field on the screen.
First look at screen customization screen:

Here is an overview of the new simple theme on the watch:

All these settings are available on the Phone AND the Watch !

Stay tuned for the next "Pro" feature ...

This app looks very good, I really like the simplicity.
Do you plan to support external sensors like the Stryd foodpod?
That would be very cool.

First of all thank you for the amazing app. I’ve given you a 5* review in the Dutch AppStore. And recommend you to my frends. One question. I am a bit obsessed with recovery time needed after a training and I loved Garmin for it. Of course you have to go with your own feeling but I like numbers ?. I already have the app training today which does something in that direction. Would it be hard to implement such a feacher. It requires hrv witch the Apple Watch has. Just wondering. As said I’m just a numbers nerd and your app is already amazing just as it is ?

Just wondering if you are planning to include setting up an interval training option to the app? For example, to run 1km, then 250m recovery, run 1km, then 250m recovery, etc? With my Garmin it will vibrate after every interval segment. It is the only thing that I still need to use my Garmin for, and very few Apple Watch running apps seem to offer it. Just curious. Thank you!

I have various requests around data analytics.
It can be recovery, race prediction ...
I am not a specialist of such data, if I can find some formulas or algorithms to go in this direction ... why not ?
But I don't have a lab with lot of people to study that.
I will rely on existing research.
I have started to look into race prediction with VO2max or previous race times based on some research.
I have tried to apply to me and the results were completely wrong, way too optimistic or pessimistic, so I don't know if it's pertinent to add that to the app ...

Yes, it's in the todo list ...
It's a very important feature, but it's complex to make a good UI for that.
If the next "Pro version" is successful, I will try to bring this feature !

Why not , step by step …
There are a lot of services, and it’s always a challenge to connect and provide a file that the target service appreciates !
I have started with Strava, the most popular…

Now, it's time to introduce another "Pro" feature : Auto save
This feature will perform periodic backups during your workout session (every 30s). I case of battery failure, or app crash (I hope it's not frequent) or app accidentally killed, you will be able to restore the backed up part of your workout directly from your watch.
You can restore the GPS route, segments, speeds ... and don't lose the entire session.
Apple has a kind of similar feature but you never get the GPS route back.

I hope this feature will save your life data (don't forget to enable it in settings) !

I am an independant developer, I have to prioritize ...
Although you’re not planning to support Stryd, is there any way to support generic foot pods? I use a treadmill quite a bit for speed work and use a NPE Runn to broadcast my pace/distance to my Garmin.

It would be great to be able to have that broadcast to my AW instead.

Unfortunately, it's not in my plans.
It's a very specific need, if I have a lot of requests (and a lot of success for my app), all is possible, but I have to make choices ...
For the moment, I concentrate on more "basic" features that doesn't require extra hardware.
My first priority is to have a good running app for running outdoors.
I have a lot of features and enhancements to implement to achieve this goal.
Then I will think about treadmill, maybe cycling ...

2.0.1 is available on the AppStore with bug fixes and one new displayable metric for Pro users : the current km (or mile) pace (it’s not the rolling pace)
It was requested by a lot of people !

Hello, I am preparing a new release for the coming days.
I need your opinion for 2 choices:
1- my app still support iOS14/ watchOS7. I have to manage the differences with newer OS releases, I have to avoid some new and useful features to keep backward compatibility. It would be easier to force users to use iOS15/watchOS8. All hardware currently supported by YouRace is able to run these OS. 99% of users are using the latest versions. Do you think it can be acceptable to stop this backward compatibility ?
2- some people have requested the possibility to use km/h or mph instead of min/km or mi for pace values. Do you prefer a global setting that affects all paces values or select the unit for each metric ?

Thanks for your feedbacks.

1. From the sound of it, dropping support for older OS seems sensible if it will enable new feature development. I’m hard pressed to think of a good reason why users have not updated to 15/8 by this point in the OS release cycle.
2. I can’t see me ever having a use for km/h with the speed I run at! I would imagine that it would be more useful to set it per metric though.

I think it's acceptable, people running an older OS are still able to use the version they currently have.
2- some people have requested the possibility to use km/h or mph instead of min/km or mi for pace values. Do you prefer a global setting that affects all paces values or select the unit for each metric ?

I think this is for newbie runners? Maybe make it for each metric, so they have the option to see both (and soon come to their senses and start using min/km).
