re: error 3200

Hey. Had the same problem on my brand new non-jb ipod touch 4th gen. Tried 3 times, no success. Restarted comp, tried again, still same error. Ran Diagnostics in iTunes, tried again SUCCESS! So if your having trouble, try running the diagnostics in iTunes. Hope that helps :D

This seems like a server issue. Way too many people downloading at once. I'll just wait until later. I've tried updating ten times now with no luck.

It has nothing to do with any of your settings. The servers are overloaded. It took about 20 attempts on my iPad before it got going. Sometimes it would reset the device, sometimes not, but error 3200 will keep coming up until you get lucky or things slow down a little.

If only it didn't have to verify multiple times during the process. I get through 2 or 3 of them then on the 4th BAM error :p

Fix for Error 3200

Windows XP
iTunes 10.5
iPod 4G
Error 3200

After viewing the log at:

C:\Documents and Settings\***\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Updater Logs\iPodUpdater.log

I closed all apps and removed all the files from my temp directory:

C:\DOCUME~1\***\LOCALS~1\Temp\

Update worked fine afterwards...

Good Luck and YMMV.

SUCCESS!
whew, after about 10 or so tries it finally went through the whole thing.

I don't really have an explanation as to what worked for me :/
After seeing error 3200 2-3 times I went into DFU mode, then kept trying. Sometimes it would fail right away, other times it would go through all of the steps then fail anyway. Now it went through all of the verifications and I am successfully on iOS 5

I honestly don't think that deleting cache, or iPhone backups or any of that junk does anything. Just keep trying and you'll eventually get lucky.

Got the 3200 here too - then got stuck in DFU mode and couldn't go anywhere. At about the 6th attempt, finally managed a "restore" which installed 5.0 happily. Now having to restore from backup so waiting for 25GB of content to re-sync... (iPad 2, iTunes 10.5).

It does look like a server load issue which will eventually go away, but loads of people must be getting this today.

Well I did absolutely nothing except re-click Update 10 times and now the iPad is finally updating.

error 3200

I tried this trick that I read and it worked. Turn airplane mode on then off. Ensure that wifi is off. If it's off turn it on then turn it off. Worked for me. Now the software is installing.
