iPhone X iPhone X battery health after 3 years?

My iPhone X is over three years old since I bought at launch. It definitely needs a new battery if I'm not going to upgrade.

Just curious what other users battery health number is after 3 (or whatever number) of years? Wondering if my 78% is below average, average or above average? Just read that optimal battery routine is not to charge above 80% on here and didn't do that with this phone.

Mine was at 79% when I traded it in. A couple of long phone calls would drain it a lot. If I kept it I was going to get it replaced.

The bulk of my days are spent with my MacBook in front of me and I usually had 75%+ of my battery left when I went to bed. I charged overnight with an Anker wireless that I think is 7.5W.

Charged every night with supplied cord & charger

I’m still using my launch day X. It’s currently at 91 percent health. Charging us with a 18watt fast charger during the day and in the car when needed. Overnight it sits on an Anker 7.5w wireless charger.

Clarly not as good as first. Two years is about the time I feel comfortable with an iPhone. Happy I upgraded to the 12 Pro Max as I was seeing signs of shorter and shorter battery life on my XS MAx.

I just replaced the battery of my X before giving it away, a little over 2.5 years old with 82%. Charged every night with either a Blitzwolf 18w or 7.5w wireless charger.

Since March 2018. Battery health: 94%.

Over the last 10 days...
Avg. Screen On: 2h 49min.
Avg. Screen Off: 1h 3min.

Used the 5w charger for wired charging only (at home & in car) for the first year.
Since year 2, I’ve used a mixture of 5w wired charging (in car) & 5w wireless charging (every night).

My X still has 92% and I got it on launch day. I mostly charged it using my MacBook Pro 15” adapter and kept it between 20-80% charge. Never charged it overnight.

I bought mine on 1 Jan 2018 and is currently at 81%. Charged during daytime everyday, rarely left charging overnight. I'm still making a decision between 11 pro or 12 pro.

I wonder how accurate the battery health estimates really are. While I think that a person's charging habits will impact this to a large extent, I find it hard to believe that a 3 year old battery that has been charged every night (1095 charging cycles) could be at 100% health in reality.

Of course I guess it depends on how "empty" you let your phone get before charging and what constitutes a "cycle."

My launch day X is at 82%. I will probably replace the battery soon as the phone still works perfectly fine but only gives me 3-4h of screen on time. A new battery will let me use it for another year, providing amazing value for 4 years ?

When I had my X it had reduced to 88% when I got rid of it. I barely had it 18 months when it got to that point. And I started to have to charge it mid day. It would drop down to 40% by like 1400 from 0630 when I take it off the charger in the morning. Did battery tech improve that much? Cause my 11 Pro is still 100% after 6 months of ownership.

Now that is a most useful comparison. Thanks for posting. My Dec 2017 battery is at 83%, so now I have a reference for battery life of the 12 Mini. I have used my X heavily in these 3 years. I often top up the charge during the day, but not to 100%, I mostly unplug it at 80%. At night I use a Samsung 7.5W wireless charger.
