Is #10 an Early PM 7100 w/o the CD drive?

As for the Bonus, it was faster(i think:)

Still open season on #10,

Hint #2 This guy was terminated at the same time as it's twin of an other name.

This is again open to ALL, even if you have posted a guess for this computer :) !

tricky, tricky! I beleive #10 is a Centris 650,
it would make it slower that the 1st one :)

#10 = 2 Points (hint =SCSI) Bonus point, Is this machine faster or slower then #9?
A-HA! The second hint helped.

It's a Performa 600. Although it's IIvx twin was actually discontinued three days later than the Performa version. And with a 32MHz CPU, that would make it FASTER in MHz than the Centris/Quadra. (Which was either 20MHz if a Centris, or 25MHz if a Quadra.) BUT, because it is a 68030 vs. the 610's 68040, AND it has a hobbled processor bus, it FEELS way slower.

#10 is a Centris 650 and the bonus is a trick question because it is the same speed at #9.

That's what I wanted to say up top, but Joe was quicker and I didn't realise it had been reopened for previous entrants on this one. I still haven't got a clue how the SCSI hint helps, though. C'mon Quadra, the suspense is killing me! :p

#10 is NOT a Quadra 650 or Centris 650.

None of that matters, as it's not a 650. 840Quadra already said 'good guesses, but it's still up for grabs' after someone suggested that it was a 650. (How do I know it's not a 650? I have one. it doesn't look quite like that. EXTREMELY close, but not quite.)

I still stand by my guess that it's a Performa 600. (Whose twin was the IIvx, and it's processor is faster in MHz, but slower in perceived speed than #9.)

He actually said it wasn't a Quadra 650, not a centris.

I think this man is correct, give him his prize!

600 had a CD version also, previous versions of Performa had IDE Hard Drive bus

Review Round #5
#9 Quadra 610 - 5 Points awarded to emw
#10 Centris 650 - 3 Points awarded to macEfan

I am giving away the bonus point, because I wasn't clear on the conditions in which the 650 is faster then the Quadra. The 650 has Interleaved memory which makes memory intensive processes much faster then Non, especially when working in Photoshop or doing light video editing (which you could do on these machines back in the day). Since I wasn't clear on the conditions, I am going to give the point away, as in some cases the Quadra was faster.

Standings Round #4
7 Points emw
6 Points macEfan
4 Points joecool85
3 Points mkjj
2 Points ehurtley
2 Point Macmaniac
1 Point katie ta achoo
1 Point Marky_Mark

Sorry for the long delay folks, Work has been crazy, and I had some freelance work that I had to get done before noon today! I will post up more pictures later today!

Thanks again for playing!

650 clue number 1 was in regards to the little known fact that the Centris 650 had the Fastest SCSI ever (at the time of it's release) of any Macintosh before it.

I stumbled upon that fact on lowendmac.com a while ago, and decided to throw it in as a hint for this one...

#11 = 3 Points (hint 6=no) Bonus point, what in the world is the clue talking about?

Wow this is like 2 games in one, lets use all MR bandwidth with the pics AND bring our post count up! Go to http://www.apple-history.com and cheat.

The logic behind your post escapes me.

All of us are aware of that site by now (and others like it), and I could care less about my post count. If this wasn't ok with the site admins or moderators, I believe we would be shut down by now ;) .

Thanks for your contribution!
