Something does not add up here. On my M3 max it takes 15 second to Denoise a 50mp photo in LR on automatic and 30 sec in low power mode. That's half the speed.
It may be batching that operation up as a background task, and that will then be run on the E cores (especially in low power mode) which are lower performance.

Hello, has anyone tried Low power mode with M3 Macbook Air 13" or 15".

I got MBA 13" M3 16/512, but low power mode does not work at all, I set it "always", I do Geekbench test, power/frequencies/score, all is the same with and without low-power-mode.

I also have M2 MBP 13", and it works as expected, 66% reduction in power usage in LPM, lower core frequencies for both CPU/GPU, etc... Can someone confirm with M3 Air? I called apple support, ended up talking to senior advisor, he acknowledged my issue (I posted screenshots, tests, etc..). At the end, he told me to wait 2-3 days for feature to start working, because Macbook is new (I got it yesterday) - I told him that answer is strange, feature should work right away, hmm lets see

Nah, do not think there is such mechanism in Macosx, also I migrated from M2 and 2 days passed - I think they just did not implemented it for M3 Air yet in official Sonoma 14.4.1, or anyone can confirm that it works on their MBA M3?

Just now I updated to BETA 14.5 Sonoma, and LPM works straight away.

Results in Geekbench6 LPM, I got 5-6c lower temps:
13" MBA 8-core M3 Score: 1690/5000 https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/5886588
13" MBP 8-core M2 Score: 1500/5500 https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/5886589

Wanted lower temps when using it in lap, but MBP 13 M2, and especially M1 is still significantly cooler than MBA M3 13 (fans do not run on pro either, but it is cooler 5-10c). Also MBA screen gets hot at bottom a bit, unpleasant.
