Oh hell. If they port Excel next we're just going to be meat processing nodes for a Borg cube in a few years.

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated and made to do pointless reports for the collective that no one ever reads.

No. I think Microsoft understands the potential of AVP and wants to have apps available for it. Expect more to come in the near future.
Microsoft also makes the HoloLens headsets. While the AVP and HoloLens have different approaches to AR/VR and thus different markets, they would probably both benefit from headsets becoming more mainstream.

Until Microsoft allows intune/Authenticator on AVP these apps remain useless for many in corporate environments. It’s a real shame.
I’m guessing it’s in the works. Apple is touting enterprise as a use case for AVP. Perhaps there is a technical limitation from using the iOS/iPadOS version and Microsoft is waiting for critical mass before developing a native visionOS version.

Ah those were the days, when spatial computing was checking the free space on your hard drive

I can't even begin to imagine what my colleagues would say if I sat working with an AVP on all day. It's never going to happen unless we get to glasses the size of Meta Raybans. We will probably look back at these early attempts and laugh at the ridiculousness of it. BUT we have to start somewhere!

Ugh more AVP apps appearing as 2D windows claiming to be made for the VisionOS. Apple is going down a spiral of having a bunch of ipad apps lazily ported into becoming more tiles.

AVP will not succeed if it’s relegated to being a face monitor! We need real efforts by developers to develop interactive, innovative apps. Apple isn’t prioritizing or incentivizing these apps or developers. This will be a very expensive lesson.

Look at the things that are actually working for Meta, things that have the users hooked. It’s immersion, games, interactive apps, different controllers and third party devices, yes even immersive porn.

I've never been able to use OneNote. Tried many times in the last 7-8 years - this UI is really not for me.

Nothing says "we care but won't put dedicated resources towards it" like an app simply made compatible, ie. a floating 2D window in a 3D space.

Because all 3 users want this? How many people that own the AVP want to integrate it with Intune? Probably less than want to use OneNote on the AVP, which is likely NO ONE.

I would want this. If I had this, I could actually do work with this on a plane, for instance, vs. using my iPad and its more constrained display space.

I was like that too. But now I have everything in it. The interface isn't great, but if you are in the Office 365 ecosystem for work, the integration is pretty good, the syncing across devices is great and it has become a pretty decent go to app for collecting notes and stuff.

I'm a big fan of Craft on the Mac and iOS devices. Unfortunately I can't have it for work. If I could, OneNote would clearly fall away from my usage.

Nice to see Microsoft support it and make its apps more usable on more platforms. I think it's a shame on Netflix etc who are purposely not developing for Vision Pro. I respect their right to not be forced to, but I think it's poor form.

An app doesn't need to be 3D and immersive to be useful in an environment that is 3D and immersive. If you don't use the AVP, you likely don't understand this yet. The ability to use several apps/windows at the same time while being fully immersed in an environment is useful to those of us who need it.

I’m pretty sure HoloLens is dead and Microsoft isn’t putting any more resources into it.
