vertical pano using several landscape shots.

This reminded me of a similar shot I’ve taken.

Vertical Pano...NICE! Few people recognize can stitch up, (I thing it is bottom to top, but might be reversed) rather than the normal left to right of a more traditional pano. Notice how got rid of the distortion if had been a single shot with an ultra-wide angle lens...if it even had that field of view.
Truth be told this was about 6 images. Maybe more from memory. I did a lot of work in PS getting rid of cranes and scaffolding etc.

This is one I did by hand. Three panels that required a huge amount of skew correction as I was using wide angle and the camera angle was also depressed. As @mollyc suggested, 7 or 8 vertical panels would have been a much better approach. The alert viewer should be able to spot the dopplegangers along the bottom center.

Talking about whack aspect ratios! I almost never shoot panoramas, but this one was shot with the built-in merging in the G5X. It doesn't support shooting panos from portrait mode, but I think in this case it would've been cropped down anyway.

I've also got a phone pano taken from the same area uncropped.

Thought about throwing up my shot of the Collegiates, but given the time of the year I took it, I am sure others can do better. Instead have one that will be much more challenging to double down on. Taken last year on an ATV trip in the Castle area of Southern Alberta. Sartoris Road blocked by foreground. Four panels from my Fuji XP-90 stitched in Affinity, further processed in PhotoShop Elements.

You’re right, I’ve never been to Alberta! I also don’t really have any panoramas of the Collegiates, other than this one of Mt Princeton

And the bonus (not actually a pano) shot that I took in the same location, which I think I like a lot better:

At the time all I had with me was my 70-200. For some reason it’s one of my favorite landscape lenses!

Great images and I love this part of the state - from Fairplay down through Buena Vista, Salida and on into the San Luis Valley. Longer lenses are really my favorites for landscapes, especially here in Colorado with large distances, vast plains, high mountains - you name it.

Out last trip out there (which was 11 years ago :() we went down US24 to Buena Vista, and then back up to Leadville. I wanted to do independence pass, but we were limited on time. Definitely a nice part of the state, and very quiet in the summertime.

Kind of falls into the useful information category, but it would be nice to know how the images are stitched, as some apps or cameras do a much better job than others. Until I started using Affinity, everything I tried did such a lousy job especially in the sky, that I learned to stitch by hand. I found it to be easier than cleaning up something that had been auto-stitched.
