Just acquired this 12" Japanese beast in perfect condition on Buyee (other than the LCD delamination). The keyboard is just so perfect to type on, though it's taking a bit getting used to the Japanese layout. Battery is basically mint with only 7 cycles and the HDD is quick and whisper quiet. The speakers are somehow MILES better than my 15" PB G4 and 15" PB G4 DLSD, bass is thumpy but not overpowering, mids are present and clear, and highs have decent detail with little distortion. This is easily one of Apple's best laptops ever created.
Nice. I've still got my UK model from 2003, G4. It weighs a tonne, haven't turned it on in ages.

I just bought a Cube with 1.5GB RAM, 120GB HD, GF6200 DVI 256MB, SuperDrive, bottom fan and 10.5.8 + speakers, original kbd and mouse + some accessories. I just cloned the HD to an external 120GB SSD and I am waiting for an adapter to swap it in.

The Cube speakers that came with it have perished surrounds so to get sound out of it I plugged in a Topping D10s USB DAC and it works wonderfully. Great sound out of the Cube iTunes through my vintage Sansui gear and out of Usher speakers. 😎

The display is a 27" Samsung curved monitor and resolution out of the Cube is 1080P.

Probably more than most would have paid but I live in Northern Europe in a place where these are quite rare. in fact these used to be cheaper 10 years ago than today (too slow and old to be cool but not riding the nostalgic wave yet, just like most cool vintage stuff). Its in perfect condition visually. It actually came with another graphics card, rebuild PSU, user manual, OS 9 discs, cables etc. so I am happy with the deal.

EDIT: I just looked at ebay offerings and it seems I didn't pay too much after all. 😎 I could refuel my car twice for the amount. ;)

The 96 PCM you see on the DAC screen is the 96KHz signal Cube is outputting. Source is iTunes radio in this case.

There are actually 3 of them mugs in a row serving as pen, screwdriver etc. containers. Got one every time I ordered some sports underwear from them some years ago. I think I have couple of more doing the same duty elsewhere in our house. 😂

Nope, stock 450MHz. Hope to find an upgrade some day.

Ps. I am using the 1920x1080 -resolution because the monitor cannot do any higher. Anybody know what the max resolution is with the GF 6200 256Mt DVI?

I didn't even remember I have one of these too: iBook G4 14" 1.42GHz in great condition. I had the Morph OS installed but didn't really find any use for it so I forgot the whole thing. Yesterday I decided to install the Sorbet Leopard into it to try it out. I also installed the Photoshop CS2 and it seems to work just fine too.

It still has the original 60GB HD so its no rocket but I have ordered a 250GB mSata -drive and adapter for it and will swap it in when it arrives.

Pics - Sorbet first boot with FW drive and on the right Sorbet installed to internal + PS running + about this mac:

You probably already know but you can go up to Photoshop CS4 on the iBook (despite the official system requirements) - it will be slow but it's got some genuinely useful features.
Well, could be but I used PS from 3.0 to CS2 professionally and we managed to do everything needed with those too. I owned almost all versions but only have the CS2 package left. Haven't used newer ones so I cannot miss any of their features. Not a fan of Adobe as a company anymore, greedy b..tards. Had to do some googlejutsu to even get the PS CS2 back running again. ;)

If something, I would like to get PS 7. Haven't searched for it, I am sure it can be found but I don't have my serial anymore (or don't know were it is). EDIT: found it in Mac repository. Now I need to search my storage boxes for old disks etc. to find a serial.

Well if you ever do any cloning the content aware tools in CS4 are incredible - I was sceptical until I tried it.

I'd just mention here that whatever your outlook concerning Adobe, the CS4 format for InDesign is still the standard. That is, you can save a file from the latest version of InDesign as an IDML file and open it in CS4.

I know we're talking Photoshop here, but the fact that you can still get an ID file open on PowerPC is one aspect that makes PowerPC still relevant.

I had to explain the difference to him.

In other news, the KING now has Sorbet on it because I've had so many issues with doing anything Linux-install-related without a working Superdrive that I gave up and went back to OS X until I replace it.

Turns out that bum Superdrive was also the reason why the SSD acts funny on poweron.

edit: I just now realised this is the PowerPC Setup thread and not the What have you done? thread. blehhh.
