Just an impression :) Both ~160MB
328176 bytes Safari17.3VenturaAuto-18617.2.4.11.9.pkg

Hello @bogdanw

Which app are you using for the direct links, because SUS Inspector v2.1 is only offering until macOS Monterey
I can see some direct links for macOS Ventura and macOS Sonoma:

01 SUS v2.1.jpg

But I can not see the Direct Download Link for Safari for macOS Ventura v17.3 (18617.2.4.11.9, 18617) OR
Safari for macOS Ventura v17.3 (18617.2.4.11.11, 18617)
02 SUS v2.1.jpg

Any help you can provide me is more than Welcome

Thanks
Camelia

No app needed, you can open the seed catalog directly in Safari and search for Safari17.3VenturaAuto
Ventura https://swscan.apple.com/content/ca...ion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog.gz
OSX/macOS software update urls 10.3 to 14

Hello @bogdanw it is me again :)

You can add to SUS Inspector v2.1 the macOS Ventura catalog

A) Go at
Code:
https://gist.github.com/b0gdanw/fe47eb02f861f509474be7a3840122b4

B) Copy the link
Code:
13 (Ventura)
CustomerSeed
https://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-13customerseed-13-12-10.16-10.15-10.14-10.13-10.12-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog

C) Open SUS Inspector v2.1 and click on + to add a new catalog

01SUS.jpg

D) Double Click on "New Catalog" and type a catalog name

02MacUp.jpg

E) Double click on the empty space and copy and paste the URL

03MacUp.jpg

F) Wait for SUS Inspector v2.1 to download all the catalogs and you will have macOS Ventura in the Catalogs Group
04MacUp.jpg

G) Now you can see all the macOS Ventura updates, including macOS Ventura Safari Version 17.3 (18617.2.4.11.11, 18617) which was released 29 Jan, 2024

Don’t forget to add .gz at the end of the Sonoma link. It should look like this before adding it into SUP Inspector
Code:
https://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-14customerseed-14-13-12-10.16-10.15-10.14-10.13-10.12-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog.gz

So I installed 17.3 via softwareupdate in system settings when ventura 13.6.4 came out recently. It shows 17.3 is installed and it works ok. Its 18617.2.4.11.9. But tonight I see a Safari update and its 17.3 is being offered again. Is anyone seeing this? Why would 17.3 be offered twice? Should I installed it again?

As Apple hasn’t said anything, as far as we can tell from reports on this thread, 18617.2.4.11.11 was released only to fix installation problems for M2 Macs. If 18617.2.4.11.9 installed on your system, 18617.2.4.11.11 doesn’t offer anything more.

I ran the update, the version now reports as:

Version 17.3 (18617.2.4.11.11, 18617)

This is a 2017 intel MBP 13 inch. Maybe they wanted to update the version for all devices for consistency? Worked fine before and works ok now as far as I can tell.

It would be difficult to release Safari just for some Macs. It’s easier to re-release for all with a higher build number. It’s not the first time Apple has done it.

The only problem reported so far with 18617.2.4.11.11 is that it’s not properly signed #53
So far, it doesn’t seem to impact usage.

Will Safari Technology Preview Version 188 fix the signed issue or it useless?

I do not understand the term WebKit when it refers "Safari Technology Preview includes the latest WebKit enhancements." Can you use another words for me to understand please?

Thanks

No is without .gz at the end of the Sonoma link

It seems SUS Inspector v2.1 only supports to add only 1 catalog per session

Yes, that version appears to be properly signed. But as mentioned before, Safari Technology Preview doesn’t replace the release version, it installs alongside it. So you will still have Safari 17.3 18617.2.4.11.11 and Safari Technology Preview 17.4 18619.1.2.1.1.
If you want to replace 17.3 18617.2.4.11.11, you can install the beta version 17.4 (18618.1.13.11.5)

Code:
https://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/22/07/052-49201-A_HXGXTKN01O/4chpvhyilgwr8ifjj76jn03x3hvres2c9t/Safari17.4VenturaAutoSeed.pkg

As you can’t uninstall the beta version, only install a newer beta or the release, I think it’s probably best to wait for Apple to release Safari 17.4. :)

I do not understand the term WebKit when it refers "Safari Technology Preview includes the latest WebKit enhancements." Can you use another words for me to understand please?
WebKit is the internal engine of Safari, responsible for interpreting the code of webpages and displaying it. New features are tested first in Safari Technology Preview, then implemented in Safari Beta and finally in the release version of Safari.

If you turn on “Show features for web developers” in Safari, you will see the Feature Flags settings in Safari Settings, where Apple lists the features that are Stable, Testable or in Preview.

Yeah I read that document, but it should work through SU.....🤨

I will probably just wait till next update.
13.6.5 update produced the same error message.

I ended up doing a reinstall Mac OS from the Recovery screen, only took about 45-60 mins....;)
