I ended up getting the base M2 Pro from my local Apple Store. I’m going to cancel my BTO M2/16GB/512GB.
My M2 MBA has the 10 core GPU and 16GB/512GB, so I think I want something a bit more powerful for my desktop. My last Mac mini kept going for 9 years; I’ll be happy is this one goes 6+ years.

After contemplating, going back and forth between between M2 Pro 512GB/1TB & 16GB/32GB configs, and reading multiple forums, I finally settled with the 1TB/16GB model as replacement for my 2019 27” iMac which will be passed down to my son. I do some light video & photo editing, and prefer to have a faster disk which is why I choose to upgrade to 1TB. I would prefer to have 32GB memory, but for an extra $300+, that is simply highway robbery. My current system has 40GB of memory and that has been more than plenty. I will be attached to an older 4k 27” Dell display until I can save up for a Studio Display or LG UltraFine. Let the waiting game begin!

I know it's dependant on usage and personal work flow but I think this is the sweet spot if you have the funds.
First post on the new system- running like a dream. I went for the studio display and don't regret it one bit. So sleek and everything looks stunning. Good luck with the saving game- its worth it
Ordered M2 Pro 32Gb/1Tb on 5-Feb, arrived in store for pickup 13-Feb. unfortunately the notification arrived too late for me to make a pickup as I was at a remote location, so pickup tomorrow. So only 8 days from order to being available to collect.

I HATE waiting and find myself checking UPS a few times a day for progress... My BTO made on the Jan 25 and shipped on Feb 10 is scheduled to arrive on Feb 16 (according to UPS) or Feb 17 (according to Apple). However, since reaching the shipping state has just sat in Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong with no progress. I'm sure it will arrive the 16th/17th but wish I could see some progress.... not a patient person! 😂
Know the feeling - I ended up tracking the plane from Bahrain to see if the mini mite be out for delivery the following day.
How do you find out what flight your package is on?

I placed my order
My order was placed on 30 Jan, and up till today (13 Feb), it's been crickets😂 My credit card hasn't even been charged yet.
I looked at DHL flights that matched with destination and origin on flight radar. There planes are DHX - sad but was kinda fun. Think that 2tb is what's delayed your mini
Mini M2 pro 12/19 32GB 1TB ordered 4 feb - arrived in Brussels 10 feb. DHL delivery today 13 (no weekend delivery’s).
Migration from CCC backup via TB2>TB3 adapter in about an hour.
Initially problem with Epson 4990 not recognized, maybe to many USB connections on USB-A ports (6 drives, 2 printers, 2 scanners, webcam via 3 USB hubs), problem solved with another usb-c to usb A hub.
Upgrading from mini M1 16GB 512GB.
Feels a little snappier, but not really worth the €€ for Photoshop/Lightroom … compared to the M1. 2018 Intel to M1 felt a lot more useful!

Mac Mini M2 Pro 10 CPU Core, 16 GPU, 32Gb RAM, 1Tb SSD assembled in China.
So much for Friday, February 17th delivery. My Mac mini got stuck in Hong Kong for two days and now is delayed until Monday, February 20th for delivery.
First world problems…
Just checked on my order M2Pro 16GB/1TB that I placed on Jan 31st which was supposed to be delivered to the U.S. by Feb 22 and now it's been pushed back to March....

Finally ordered mine! M2 Pro 12c/19gc, 32G, 1TB and 10Gbit ethernet for 2,170 swiss francs (around $2,300).
Finally opted for a 1TB storage because the upgrade to 2TB is just a crime. (~$490 !!!). Prefer to save the money for the monitor.

I just received this email from Apple this morning pushing my 1/31 order to March.
good choice, adding some decent speed storage is easily done but your stuck with the ram. I think this is the performance value sweetspot
