Wow that’s an awesome shot. Did you use a tripod? Where’s it?

Thanks! That's with the mini tripod on top of my car roof. 10 second max on the adjuster on standard lens and light + vivid cool filter after shot was taken to keep the sky cool

The place is "Jumbo rocks campground" at Joshua Tree National Park, CA

Awesome , I’m travelling to Australia in December, hoping to capture some solid nightscapes.

I was not impressed with the photos on my iPhone 11 Pro. They looked virtually the same as my iPhone 8.

Taken in a county park with no other source of light other than the stars. No editing at all.

Taken using Night Mode on my iPhone 11Pro Max on a Tripod set to 28 seconds.

As it gets darker you can slide the slider to the right for longer exposure. On a tripod the iPhone detects it’s stable and will give you the ability to go up to 30 seconds.
If you handhold (very steadily) or brace on a rail or such, you can get to 10 seconds. I suspect it adds time increments depending on how much micro-motion it detects.

i think so too. i also found that the time increases depending on how dark it is. i've heard of people getting 30 sec but i haven't gotten it to do that yet.

You should probably re-read the original post. There is a light source and it’s not the flash.

I have re-read the original post 5 times now and not once does it say anything about a light source.

Forgive me but can you please cite it for me? Thanks!

There are two prominent pics in this thread. I believe you are referring to the very first one where there’s a red lighthouse (Post #1). I think the other person is referring to the second picture where the person said the moon was the only light source (Post #23). I think there’s just miscommunication here.

Nice, but what's that red dot upper left. Is that Mars?

Not even close to shots made buy guys earlier in this tread, but nevertheless I am really impressed with iPhone night shots (fire on the first shot is just my cigar, that I was smoking in the time of making shot, accidentally did get in shot).

You should claim that you photographed a supernova or an alien spaceship exhaust. Looks cool, these kinds of accidents can inspire other images. Thaks for posting it.

There does seem to be a flying saucer in the second above the house right of center, lol.
