Correct, there currently is no DIY method of doing so.

I personally don't see the need for it, since most things can be done blindly, or one could just simply swap the GPUs, but he just doesn't want that hassle lol.

Are the hints discussed on this thread valid only for Sapphire-branded cards? I ask because I have a MSI RX 580 Gaming X 8G (https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/radeon-rx-580-gaming-x-8g/specification) that I would love to tune by reducing the voltage (to make it cooler) and changing the fan profile. However I'm on a hackintosh, not on a real Mac.

Isn't there a bios switch on the card? I've got one on my Sapphire, click and done.

No need to do this anymore. Newer OS can ident the GPU correctly natively.

From memory, HS, anyway, that's for RX580, not HD7950.

Ok so for the 580, one should be able to take a PC version, install into a Mac running HS or Catalina, and get a boot screen without having to flash the card's bios?

Just want to make sure I understand.

Not on a 5.1 or prior, no. The OS detects the card and uses it properly; The pre-boot environment still runs UGA not GOP

You can, but the question become why.

This whole thread is basically depreciated.

We prefer NOT to flash the RX580 nowadays, but use OpenCore to inject whatever we want.

By using OpenCore, we can get boot screen, HWAccel, and Orinoco framebuffer without flashing the card. So, there is no point to flash the RX580 anymore.

It is actually DELL OEM RX-580 which shares the hardware of the reference RX-480. I have 4 ports: 3DP and 1 HDMI. One of the DP will not work with this setup.

I am looking for a second-hand Sapphire Pulse but there is always the Nitro version. are these the settings you send works with also Sapphire Nitro?
